I just downloaded the user manual for the 2624 Speed Stream... according to what I've read... you'll need to try the "virtual server" function... it looks like it may do what I was talking about, redirect port 27910 to your q2 server LAN IP#.

I'm not sure what you are doing when you say "opened a port"... All the routers I've used have a redirect function.... where you setup the requests for 27910 to be sent to an IP# on your LAN (the q2 server's IP). Then make sure if the server has a software firewall, that the quake2.exe fil...

This is no longer true... Thanks to MrG and his work on a Q2chaos update/patch, We now can detect and auto-kick this cheat off the server.

......This is correct .......... quake will always try to put your configs back to default because ......... aaaaaaaaahummm !!! your technically NOT supposed to mess with them lol (evil) The quake2.exe only alters the "config.cfg" files... all other cfg files must be edited by the user......

Nice work MrG.... 8) I think it's news worthy... that we have someone working on Q2 chaos updates... even if he's not an official member of the current Chaos development team. Could we get an update to the ChaosDM website that gives mention of MrG's work... even if it is a Fan/Player based chaos upd...

There should be an autoexec.cfg file found in your quake2\chaos folder... that is the best place to put your binds that you want to use for the q2 chaos mod only.

I know I should really start another thread for this but hay!.... :lol: Other mod's like gloom have admin tools built in... such as they can send a @check command to a player's console and then have a response from the player.... like the !stuff command used by q2admin.... this can be a very useful ...
