Whew! Where to begin?

Mmkay,

1st off, using the term 'Sir' is an attempt to be civil, and show respect. It should be taken that way whether you wear a bra or not. I tend to use the term if I don't know you, or if I have respect for you. However, it comes and goes with my moods, so stick around, and I might call you 'homie' or 'biaotch' or some other crap as well.

And yes, of course I care what I write.

2ndly, the last time I remember testing it, you could get the sword to show up w/o the main mutator loaded, and you could even kill with it. But, the 'blocking' function did not work at all, there were no sounds and no actual blocking, and also no gore would appear on the blade. In my mind, that's not 'working', but if it blows your skirt up, then enjoy!

I don't even have a Beta4 install on my machine right now, or I would go check. And, I'm not even sure if I tried to run it like that after Joe and Fred were done monkeying with Beta4, so it's entirely possible it will work w/o the main mutator. There are so many things to check, it's easy to miss something like that, especially since it's not any type of bug. Oh, and BTW, the next release will handle those arena muts differently, thanks to a great idea from Jb.

"No Health and grapple only work, and they even say in the manual in your post below that they work without the mutator"

Yes, I know. And I said that I'd like to see it removed.

And if the grapple is a problem in a gametype you want to play, like JailBreak, just turn it off in the configs. Neat little menu option has been provided just for that.

I too like the idea of people getting whatever they want, as long as I get what I want too! What I want is humans playing Chaos on public servers. If there were crowded servers for me to play on, I'd say give them whatever they want, I would not care. However, spending the past year or so with only a handful of players ( for the most part ), I now feel that if people want something Chaos has to offer, then they need to come and play Chaos. It is my belief that if you break it up like that, there will not be anybody playing Chaos. So we disagree, so be it.

Switch, hello! Yes sir, you did hear about that, but with such a small team, and the existence of StuffSwapper, it has never made it to top priority. This might sound familar too, but if you know anybody who knows code, and knows Chaos, send them over.

Strangelove is one of my favorite ways to play Chaos. Great fun. Especially with Carry the Flag, and my beloved grapple. :P

I prolly forgot to reply to something. Must not have been interesting enough if I did. hehe

Oh yeah, there was one thing. Please, please stop playing Face! My gawd! Never seen such a bad, boring map get so much play. Even if it's space-platform-type maps you want, I can probably name at least 10 that are better. And of course there's ton's of 'non-space' maps that work beautifuly with SLV2 and Chaos. ( Faces of Pharoahs, AnthonyB'sDomain, Templar, Project X, Project X2, Shader, Facing Gods, Purple Flame. And those are all CTF. And theres plenty more. )

But regardless, thanks for the discussion. Love talkin' gaming.

* MassChaos, thanks for looking at the HTML thing. And like I said, it's not any big deal, I'm more than happy to wait until someday when you've got some more time on your hands.

** Oh and, Mayhem, Mr. Moo, 'black knight of Chaos' huh? hehe Well, get on a server once in awhile and you can call me anything you want. :P

Merely a flesh wound.

Anyway, yeah, I think I know someone who's learning C++, however he's interested in working on more "professional" things. Once he made a simple program to break time limits on shareware, the cheap *****. If you love the thing that much, why not spend the freakin' money. [whiny voice]Is it too much for you? Does wittle tommy too cheap to buy anything? Boo hoo. Hold on while I get out my tiny violin[/whiny voice]. sorry 'bout the rant. piracy just gets me on edge.....

have a nice day

many of those lines are in the "Sir Bevlidier" voice which i have installed on the server (i use it all the time) :) im one o dem medieval types. get it from The Voiceshrine
Quickly, Shield men! To my side!
If you fancy the medieval world like i do, perhaps you can equip yourself with some shields helms and swords of all kinds from The Armory made by blacksmiths practicing their trade all over the world. I myself have a beautiful european burgonet helm which i got from them. expensive stuff, but very sweet.[/b]

Good idea, m'lord! We shall confound the enemy by striking at each other! My turn!

To be honest i dont believe that timers and other "make you buy it" things should be used by shareware developers. If you want any insight as to why i think this, you should talk to friend and JailBreak III developer Mychaeel (IRC: irc.enterthegame.com #utjb, JailBreak forums However, i dont try to defeat them, and i am proud to say that i have bought many a shareware title, ever since i had the capacity to buy stuff online.

Could you link me to strangelove please?

Ah Flagg, you missed a good game of at least 8 players on Team59 Server 2. Was a blast... I must have played for 2 hours.

Folks,

lots of possibilities for what we can do for UT 2003 so I am not going to rule anything out ATM. Chances are that if enough people want a feature then we can try to acomodate them. Key word TRY :)

Also the fact that you can run a MUT with out the Beta4 could be due to a bug (ie the thing works but errors results in the logs) or the fact that for some of them I have dynamically loaded all/part of the ChaosUT Mut in the background :) But we have changed it a bit for the next version.

just so you know, frankly i think the sword is more fun than the impact hammer, and I like being able to swap them for an otherwise normal deathmatch now and then. :)
Of course this probably has a bit to do with my medieval tastes....
Someone like me ought to like any game with a sword in it :)

First, there are good points on both sides, so it will be impossible to please everyone. Second, it's too bad more skilled people won't offer their help, that weapons menu would solve this entire thing.

Off topic, no, I will not get him to e-mail it to you. I refuse to be a party in piracy or the like. Hey, what's a Christian socialist to do?

Off topic the second, do you mean that $199 Burgonet Helm? Nice stuff.

I would say more likely that he fancies all things Stephen King. "The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed"

heh, the only time i use the term sir is when i am "politely" getting a pissy (no, i do not mean for that i to be a u) kid who just threw a football at my nuts in trouble (SIR, if i do recall. doesn't the code of conduct refer to that as "Assault". and wouldn't his "witnesses" mocking me be considered instigators?) or when i forget a teacher's name. shockingly, that makes the teacher think i am polite. heh, what an idiotic assumption.

OH YEAH, switch, thats the one- to me thats the sweetest helm on the site- too bad it was on backorder- i had to wait 2 months before they had it again.
at first i was a little iffy getting stuff from them, with the broken email links and some gramatical (sp?) and spelling errors :) on the site, but i went with it and I discovered they do real good business with their customers. I highly reccomend it.
while I'm at it, that Great Claymore is sweet stuff too. that thing is huge! too bad I'm broke now
'Dost thou dare strike at me, heathen?'
