have any kind of animation in one, for instance, the look of static moving on a TV screen or something similar?
Just curious

That would be great if you could, i'd be making those instead of regular sprays,

That sounds like it would cause alot of lag on the server if lets say 2 people spam them as often as allowed. Imagine the whole room...

That was the first thing that came to mind.

well there is a spray limit per player, like 5 i think, so that should help some.
If you want a simple test, find a animated texture in one of the base UT2004 files and then add that to your spraytextures.

It wouldn't cause lag.
The actual spray paint motion would be client side. Might sap your computer's resources a tiny bit, but wouldn't cause lag.
But I don't think its possible, .gif's don't work as projectors.

Is it possible to have a shader on a spray to make a metallic effect?

I think the server just tells where to place the spray and the animation would be handled client side, so the hit should be the same for the server as with the non animated spray. But I could be wrong.
Edit: Thanks guys, I may give it a shot with the stock texture.

Well now, if I had an example to copy off of I could probably do that, but I don't know enough about this stuff to figure it out though
I tried to get some out of the stock textures but each time I tried to export it told me to select a file or if it did export it was just one frame of the animation.
Oh Well, back to the drawing board

no you dont want to do that, just set your spraypaint to be the same included texture. When I get back from work I will try it!

In the end alot of people's computer wouldn't take it. About 4 people spamming those as often as they could would do it nicely.

I dont think that will be the case as the projector will still have the same amount of work todo as a project update itself ever screen refresh. But the only way to know for sure is try it and see
