Chaos for UT2007? Some thoughts?
Some thoughts that I've been going through includes a ChaosUT for UT2007. What do you guys think? How is this going to work? What old stuff goes in the new version? What new stuff is introduced? Etc ...
I heard we would need a bigger team for this mod to fly.

I personally don't expect cross-platformness to be an adverse affect in CD's future in the mod community. Heck! UT(99) was on a bunch of consoles so why complain?
If there's a way to load mods into the PS3 version of UT2007, that would be great! Kind of gives the console people a taste of what PC/Mac mods are like on the comfort of their own console. Otherwise, I don't see cross-platform is a big issue. Mods were never meant to be loaded on a console in the first place.
I think what some players are worried about is that the level of gameplay may no longer differentiate themselves between pro and amateur, or since there will be a console version, some people are afraid that the PC gameplay will be dumb downed to please the casual console gamer. Personally, I just adapt to the new level of play. I know that there are players better than me so I don't complain who's got the bigger penis. Besides, Epic releases patches to address these issues in regards to certain aspects of gameplay, like certain guns doing more damage than usual and the sort. I have a feeling that they listen to the players. Some people asked for a UT99-feel for UT2004 and they got some feel to it ... it may not be perfect but I think it still works.

Ut2004 is console too, I belive. Unreal championship 1? It was just ut2003 ported I believe.
Anyways, with the kind of things Epic has been talking about as of late, I will be suprised if mods for xbox360 and maybe PS3 as well do not become possible, and I even suspect they may very well be cross compatible.

I can assure you that I am perfectly sane.
And so is Steyr.

Assuming there was gonna be a Chaos for UT2007, I think we would first have to wait and see just how much of Chaos is gonna be in the vanilla game.
The CanGun sounds a lot like our Claw.
Feigning Death, Ok, I know it was in UT, but it was also in Q2Chaos.
The Hoverboard. And now we learn that the Hoverboard may include a grappling hook to attach to other vehicles.
Possible deployable Automatic Turrets.
And it sounds like they are taking our approach to combining CTF/VCTF into one game type.
Anyway, who knows what the future will bring. But it certainly seems as if Chaos continues to inspire the Unreal devs. So it would be kind of hard to plan ahead, w/o first waiting to see how many of our current features get put into the vanilla game.

Well, seeing as (I hope) Chaos isn't a one trick dog, it's not too hard to concieve that if Chaos went to 2k7 there's bound to be more things CUT could achieve.R.Flagg wrote:Assuming there was gonna be a Chaos for UT2007, I think we would first have to wait and see just how much of Chaos is gonna be in the vanilla game.

Doesn't look like there's gonna be swords, so we've still got that covered .
Would it be possible to see Chaos on both Q4 and UT2k7?
Flagg, don't forget: The bio ammo hops around behind players in UC2 just like our proxy's. I don't know if they will implant that into UT2007 though...R.Flagg wrote:Assuming there was gonna be a Chaos for UT2007, I think we would first have to wait and see just how much of Chaos is gonna be in the vanilla game.

if CUT is made for UT2k7 peeps will call proxies a yapping UC2 bio sludge rippoff..
lets see what hasnt been done in the U games yet...
Melee-Done
CPP-Not worth it
Claw-seems to be mostly done,Canister gun
Crossbow-Not sure
CUTTER=RIPPER
ERDW-Alot like shock rifle
sniper=Nerfed sniper rifle
CGL:seems to be mostly done,Canister gun
Turrets:Said to be in
Vortex:Still somewhat unique to chaos
Rockets:Peeps would say they ripped off HL,soo wouldnt be a good idea

Yeah, wicked eh? Maybe we should ask them to put SPA in the credits list.R.Flagg wrote:You're kidding!Deapblade wrote:Flagg, don't forget: The bio ammo hops around behind players in UC2 just like our proxy's.
I had no idea.
I know because i watched the demo movies on the UC2 site.
Another thing is that they inplanted melee in UC2, I know everybody knows that, but I just want to point out that a lot of our ideas match with EPIC's (or they like our ideas ).
EDIT: lol TKATK you again.

Good:
Necris: Really cool models
More vehicles: Really cool models too!
Conquest: Supposed to be like combining AS and ONS. Instead of aquiring nodes as outposts, I heard that the game centres around storming capturing small bases, just like in ONS (linked bases lose their forcefield) and in order to capture a base, players need to do cool things like in AS. But this is all hearsay...
Bad:
NO MINIGUN!!! WHY??!!
No AS or BR
The game is supposed to be HUGE, like 10 gb or something
