What's a firemine?
Fragging with all sorts of weapons gives more skill, not only using your favourite.

Its like a trip mine...but instead of a big explosion, a stream of fire shoots out and frys anything that breaks the beams path :)

Imagine a laser trip mine like in Half-Life or Duke Nukem 3D.
Now imagine a focussed explosion that looks more like a beam of fire.
And finally imagine the trip mine's laser being a little higher powered than neccessary for just detecting objects, which it still does perfectly.

Did I mention to get out of the way of the laser after placing this thing?

Imagine? Imagine this or that? Where's that emoti-thingy Furry likes so much...... (angry)

IR15 is out, and they look awesome, why not we post some pics, so they can see, not imagine. :wink:

But I guess that's more along the lines of what I do. :)

Ok, give me some time, and if nobody beats me to it, we'll have some pics of these Very cool mines posted up here tonight.

Sorry for the delay. Anyway, I usually use them in a hallway or in front of a door or something, but they can be placed on the ground so they go straight up was well. (these are clickable if you want)

The base of the mine itself is still a beta skin.

And they work that way too.... if you can get somebody to walk into them;

And from another angle, just for fun;

Save your new pair of pants for later, you haven't seen the effect in motion yet... :wink:

Mr. neolith, Sir. While I understand the point you were making, and agree that the effect in motion is quite happenin, I have an issue with this statement.

If the gentlemen has in fact soiled his garments, I would suggest that a quick change is very much in order, despite the fact that the replacement garments may in fact become soiled themselves.

One must practice good hygiene when fragging their companions. Without manners, we are cavemen. Civility is key.

:wink:

And thanks for the compliment howlermonkey! All I do is take the sshots, but I really do try to make them look good. It's the least I can do for these guys. They worked very hard to get these firemines in there.

BTW- I still need to ask my fellow Chaos lads if we are going with the name 'firemines'? What do you guys think?
