then how does it work that you can pick up weapons in chaos dm?

It would be awesome if you could pick up the weapons of your defeated foes in melee just as though it was chaos dm. That way you could switch through the weapons that you have picked up to find one that will better help the situation.

if you guys did use gag weapons you would have to come up with some suitable death messages when killed by one.

Since the new version all of the 1v1 maps have been modified to 4-way duel maps, so there isn't nearly as much waiting time as there used to be. personally I think that as soon as the round starts you get one and only one bet. You can't change him if you don't think he has much of a chance after 10 seconds have passed. It beats just switching your bets back and forth whenever one player has more health then the other.

Doing this would be turning UT2k4 into a Deus Ex sequel. Not exactly the easiest thing to do.
