I would suggest dropping the numbering, or at least using #5 (numbering by game could cause confusion if Chaos changes platform for some reason). That file *should* be generated the first time the mod is launched. It is not generated during the install however.

Try running UT with -mod="ChaosUT2" in the startup line and see if it generates it for you after the installation. It should also generate a ChaosUT2user.ini file as well.

Another way of putting it:

UT2004 is at the core the same game as UT2003. Its basically an expansion pack that includes the full game of UT2003 + the expansion

Im at home right now and running an outdated version. Just trying guesses off the top of my head.

Unfortunately, i dont have much experience with maplists as i dont particularly like the interface for using them.

As far as i remember they should have their own map lists.

Look at the lighting gun attachment for an easy way to handle the spawning/despawning of the third person effects. Make your attachment just like that using ThirdPersonEffects() and Destroyed(). Set DrawType to none (so it doesnt draw the mesh), then attach the emitter you spawn to the player's weap...

Id guess he wants a magic weapon. Glowy things being spell particles etc.
