Lol no don't do that. Once you put in the zip file. You should see a chaos folder inside your ut installation. Open that, open system, and you should see a bat file. That's your launcher. :D Or you can create a shortcut with properties like this: "C:\Program Files\UT2004\System\UT2004.exe"...

Spec, the backswing/foreswing is more common than you may think on the Hammer. The knockback is not that significant, you only need to take a step forward.

The DX is very very inaccurate. Trying to hit most people is a game of chance. Folks with other weapons can run circles around the DX crowd.

The bots unfortunately act precisely as you described. I dont' think there will be another patch coming out soon, but in the meantime, like Kabby said, most of us are on xfire and that is the best way to hook up with some fellow duel players.
