Help!

Post by N4p4lm »

I'm having some trouble. I've got the newest version of CUT2. I did alot of reading up on it and am really excited to try some of the melee combat modes. Problem is, none of them are accessable. The mod itself loads, and I can play all of the regular UT2004 game types with the Chaos weapons, but none of the Chaos game modes are playable. It's not as if they don't load either, they're not even on the list!

I took a screenshot to show you what I mean. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Lol, ok. Thanks for the welcome by the way.

Back on topic: The log file doesn't seem to be in the system folder. Could this by chance be the source of the problem?

Oh, and also. I downloaded 3.0 at first, before realizing there was a newer version. I tried running the mutator instead of the launcher, and for some reason it says I'm still using 3.0

I'm not exactly an expert on this, but you've probably borked your install somehow. I would recommend pretty much removing everything chaos-related and downloading/installing 3.7 and 3.75

Remember that if you use winrar or winzip (I think) that you will only have to extract to the UT2004 folder.

Slight problem with that too. >_< It won't allow me to uninstall it. Closest I can get is throwing all the shortcuts in the recycle bin.

EDIT: Nevermind, deleting it all worked.

I got rid of it all and re-downloaded. But I'm not sure I can install it. The zip folder didn't come with an install file. And UT crashed when I went into the community tab to try and load the mod. T_T

here's the crash message

Oh, erm, zip file. I don't know about that, since I used the utmod version, which allows you to select UT2004 integration. You might want to delete the zip files that are in the UT2K4 and try the utmod chaosut version.
Keep rockin'!

Lol no don't do that. Once you put in the zip file. You should see a chaos folder inside your ut installation. Open that, open system, and you should see a bat file. That's your launcher. :D

Or you can create a shortcut with properties like this:

"C:\Program Files\UT2004\System\UT2004.exe" -mod=ChaosUT2

Cheers!

****! I already tried the umod! Well, I tried the .bat earlier when I still had the zip, and it opens in comman prompt and then just closes. >_< I have a feeling I'm not going to get this mod to work.

If any of this information helps Here you go.

I'm running on Windows XP (lonely nerds flame away)
I have patch 3369 for UT2004
I had 3.0 before having 3.7

EDIT: When I downloaded the umod I tried to unzip and install it but I was told the archive was corrupt, so that didn't work out. I guess I'm gonna d/l the .zip install again T_T

Hi.

Probably just an install error, and maybe also missing the ECE bonus pack.

If you have Chaos already installed right now, just make sure all the files are in the correct place. You can check the list on the Install page of our manual:

http://chaotic.beyondunreal.com/docs/install_ut2004.php

In the zip install section there is a list of files and what folders they should be in. Check to make sure you have each file in the correct place.

Zip files do not come with an "installer". You simply point it to your UT2004 and unzip. Normally that's all you have to do.

(oh, and btw... the non-melee stuff is pretty cool too. be sure to check it out. flaggrules)
