VENGEANCE RELIC

I have the most up-to-date version of ChaosUT2 (PRv3.76) and I've been trying to get the Vengeance Relic to explode. I've made the annotation in the OPTIONS for the vengeance explosion, but it still does not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

If you were expecting the massive uber-explosion from previous versions, I think that was transferred over to the Redeemer. The relic does explode, just with less visual oomph.

If it's not too late, if you haven't lost interest already, feel free to post a log file (from after you've seen this happen of course), and we'll try to put our heads together and look for clues.

Did a quick search of forums just now, and there was another person posting with the same issue. However he was asked to PM a log file to Jb, and that was the end of it. So I dunno.

Another thing I can think of, is we used to have a bug where if you killed the relic carrier from a great distance, it would not go off.

But other than that, all I can suggest is to make sure you have the latest patch from Epic, and the ECE pack, and then run a game with Chaos as the only mod/mut and wait for it to happen. Then close the game and post the log here (doesn't matter how long it is, we can edit your post if needed).

is this log file from a game where you actually saw the bug happen?

This is from the same game, yes. I acquired the text from the UTChaos directory in my UT2004 folder. As usual, the vengeance relic doesn't explode upon possession and death.

perhaps there's another file in the same directory that has a log...I can check to see when I get off of work.

Cool, just checking. So far we're not seeing anything that gives an answer.

From the sticky, in case it helps:

- If you are playing a standard game type with the Chaos mut, the log you want is UT2004.log, and it is located in your UT2004\System folder.

- If you are playing a Chaos game type, the log you want is ChaosUT2.log, and it is located in your UT2004\ChaosUT2\System folder.


Is this happening on only one map?

Is it happening every time?

Also, clearly you have a lot of errors, and while they may not be teh cause of all or any of your bugs, they aren't helping matters either. It would be wise to try to clean up bugged muts/mods, or the partial files that you have still installed from some, or whatever. Ideally you'll start to see those error messages going away in your log files.

Also, Mons pointed out one, that might be critical. A file missing that is maybe stock, from the CD... what was it... oh yeah, this one maybe

Warning: Missing TexEnvMap TexEnvMap AW-Cubes.Cubes.SunC

or.. any with that AW-Cubes business. Is it possible you've accidentally deleted stock files?

It might be some of the modded skins/maps that might be conflicting with the ChaosUT2 Mod. I'll do the process of elimination and see if that can clear the errors and perhaps the relic issue.

I re-installed the 3369 patch and there's now a slight explosion when I die with the vengeance relic, so I suppose that with the new ChaosUT2 version that this is how it kills anyone in my vicinity instead of the old mass explosion?
