Hey folks, does anybody recall this ever happening before with Chaos and the Bastard Sword?

Anybody? Nobody?

I was able to test this with Arnox tonight. Yes, you can block and hardly have anything get through your block and at the same time, strike and kill the other player. Makes bot matches boring I'm told. Any ideas? Is this by design or a flaw?

Since you've been active with Chaos lately, I'll take a few mins and give you the respect of the long answer.

First of all, do you realize how long it's been since I was testing and/or playing CUT? On top of that, look at CUT2, and try to imagine how many bug and bug reports we've dealt with since then. So yeah, sorry but I just don't remember that particular issue.

And if it does exist, that doesn't mean we weren't aware of it. We sometimes simply had to say "times up", and move on. We never had enough time to do all the things we wanted to do.

And I have a feeling that was the time period where we were doing multiple releases at once - two wholly separate 'lines' of code going on, one for the public release, and one for the retail CD release.

Sooo anyway, is the bug there? I dunno. Been way too long, and way too many others things I/we've dealt with since then for me to remember.

And finally, don't take this the wrong way, but I couldn't help but point out the obvious -if it makes bot matches less interesting, you could always just -not do it.

Thanks

I suspected as much Mr. Flagg. I know it has been quiet around here and that most everybody has moved on. On the whole, Chaos is working well no matter the version. Do you think trying to keep up with Chaos and each new version of UT was just too much for the team after a while? Being that I only just recently reinstalled UT2K4, it still seems very new to me. It is odd for me to look up forums for it under the Legacy UT Games section. LOL.

I think what shocks me most here is how massive of a following Chaos had in its day and now all is so silent. There is so much info here for people and I thought even if the new versions stopped coming out, the old diehards of Chaos would stick with it and keep building little mods and fixes for it but no. It is silent. I just hope to have the server that everybody sees when they do reinstall for old times sake and I hope they consider it a good server too. CYA!

Have you tried having a regular get-together time and advertising it? I get on your server once in a while for a game or 2 and try to check it in the browser while playing on my own server, but I keep missing all the action on your server. It's working great so far 8)

Not yet.

I have not done that yet but there have been discussions about doing it. I feel like I'm still growing it and working out bugs and doing tweaks and things. I do appreciate you getting in there here and there and playing. I usually play with "Nameless_Entity" anytime between 9-12 at night.

I've been just plain tired this week and it has been hard to try to frequent all of the servers I support. I usually visit mine last because they are slow right now and I don't care if they are. Other friends of mine do care about their server popularity and so I try to help them out by playing at their servers.

My friends all have awesome servers and they give me lots of great ideas to steal! LOL. CYA!
