Unreal Tournament 3 Preview

Post by genman »

It’s a game that’s been in development for quite a while but this week FiringSquad was one of the lucky few media outlets to be among the first to sit down and actually play Unreal Tournament 3 (formerly known as Unreal Tournament 2007) for the very first time.

3?

So are UT2003 and UT2004 considered the same game?

Yeah, I found the naming a little weird as well. But yeah, seems like Epic is thinking them as the same game. I can kind of see where they are coming from though as UT2k3 and UT2k4 are the most similar of the soon to be 4 games in the UT franchise.

looks pretty cool. Amazing to see how much of chaos is in that game - hoverboards? grapplehook? melee? my god, chaos really does set the way.

I can't wait. Supposedly UnrealED was recoded from the ground up and wiping all non-convertible crap away from it so there could very well be a Mac version.

Yeah, from what ive seen, the new editor is like a combo between Ued and maya/max. Ive heard you can even use the editor to burn shaodws onto custom meshes etc. Unfortunately, it seems much more complicated to use!
