I think if you search this forum for posts containing 'ragdoll physics' by jb, you might find an answer.
I seem to remember him explaining to us that those are not replicated. So, once you are dead, everything that happens to your corpse is client-side only.
Or something like that.
Personally I don't use them or the tombstones, but to each his own!
