Papercraft ChaosUT by Metalfist

Post by Dr.Flay »

Metalfist has done it yet again, and created another set of Unreal models for us to enjoy in the Real world.
This time, it is the final ChaosUT 99 mod :spin:

Over the weekend, I gained a lot of respect for the patience of Metalfist.

My daughter and I actually printed out the sword and proxy mine, and started cutting. Didn't take long for us to surrender, and just say 'no way'.

After seeing first-hand how much detailed cutting and folding and stuff is involved, it makes what we see in that pic all that much more impressive.

Oh yeah. She has gone above and beyond the call of duty as far as I'm concerned.
It is "her thing" though as she also makes costume and sculpture.
Probably requires that mind-set to work out the logic to create these from the texture files.

I imagine the size you choose to print makes a big change to the difficulty.
People have done a few life sized UT200x models, but I suspect they would be impossible as a small model due to the sheer amount of faces.

Glad you had a go at it anyway.
That will please her I imagine, as I haven't seen any posts of people trying.
