Space maps

Post by lord_kungai »

Is it possible to make an onslaught map in space? That would be fun. Epic advertised UT2004 with many pictures from AS-Mothership, and I thought that there will be many maps in space. But really, there were only four real 'space' maps: CTF-Face Classic, DM-Phobos2, DM-Hyperbalst2 and AS-Mothership. If you notice, there aren't any other real 'space maps'. And there are no onslaught space maps. Not fair!!!

I'm planning on something like that eventually, but I have too much work to do right now to even think about making yet another map...

A space map would be great. For me, the best maps of UT99 were often the "space" maps, and onslaught would be a great way of adapting the styles of play to the environment. I wouldn't use asteroids without using teleporters extensively in the map, it would ruin the asteroid concept IMO.
I would like to see a space mine with cranes, ships and the like. If the ships were open, they would be great for close combat.
Jingle, jingle, boom. Oops, you're dead.
That sucks cause I wanted to play....
But let the show go on!

my fave maps were the ruins,or large, immersive maps like Grand Canyon ML2 a nice mix of the two would be nice,(not to mention with mechanics in it like cranes, loading docks, VEHICLES, and the like.
