Crossbow aiming?

Post by Andyo »

Been trying to up my skills with the v1.1 crossbow, and have noticed that it occaisionally shoots to the right- and always to the right, not left, of the crosshair center provided. And always to the approximately same degree.

Weapon hand is right, and sometimes it does shoot straight on just fine I've tried this against walls and bots at various distances.

Also noticed that regular UT crosshair may not be accurate when crossbow unszoomed (Or I'm not shooting straight, one of the two. Kinda hard to tell with a single-shot missile type weapon.

BTW: what are those regular green lines going up on the upper right and down on the lower left of the zoom crosshair for?

Cheers,

Andyo,

sorry for these issues. The crossbow was never tweaked correctly. With what little time I had I was only able to make it accurate when you use the zoom stops modes. So in theory it should be closer to being on at the x3, x6 and x9 zoom cases.

I think the green lines were there for show. They do not really serve a purpose :(

Thanks. Gonna use the zoom on the C-bow from now on, in zoomstops.

Only problem I have with zoomstops is getting out fast when someone gets in your face and personal.

BTW, how do you use the crossbow melee spikes? Just run into your victim?

And for that reason, I recommend you leave them off, and simply adjust.

You have already pointed out that you are aware of how the aim will be off, simply adjust for that. This will become natural after awhile, and you won't even think about it.

My 2 cents anyway.

Thanks yet again. :D

PS - thanks for the link to the furrysound webpage. Got the Beta 4 mapapack right quick.

Managed to get the GOTY mappack off of Fileplanet because of timezone diffrences with the East Coast and the rest of Canada/US (but mostly US)

Cheers,
Andrew
