well I can't repeat that crash... probably just a random bug :P but I did find a few other bugs.

1.

the flame grenades for the grenade laucher won't create fire underwater if the grenade detonates in the water brush (which is correct) BUT if the grenade detonates outside of the water brush (e.g. above it) then the flames will go into the water and stay lit for their normal lifespan... you can test this on CTF-Geothermal in the pools of water under the catwalks outside the bases.

2.

the crossbow can be rapidly shot by clicking alt-fire rapidly. it will shoot faster than primary fire. pretty handy but a bug nevertheless... :P

3.

The link gun isn't replaced by anything... is there supposed to be a replacement yet?

4.

the mine launcher isn't very often placed in a map when the mutator is used... perhaps it should replace the link gun?

5.

I dunno if this is a bug with the mod or not... but if I use a Redeemer rocket in alt-fire mode (video guided mode) it turns off both the "fly" and "god" cheats on the player when it detonates if they are active. not really a problem... just odd... I assume this would work for the "ghost" cheat as well...

6.

Are the flashbang grenades supposed to do anything to the bots? I haven't been able to dammage bots with them, nor does this seem to affect their AI.

and yah the EDRW is a great sniper gun... sorta like the rail gun from Q3A :)

Nice about the fire textures and about the log when starting a dedicated server: It happens no matter what mutator is being used. So basicly, I can't do a dedicated server (I do not know about a non-dedicated server though). Here is the log with CTF-Face 3 w/ no mutators...

@ halprin:

so does a dedicated server work without the mod active? because it looks like the system can't find all the data for the maps or something... what system you runing? I know my other computer (WinME) has weird glitches with UT2K3 where it deletes the user.ini and or ut2003.ini and stuff... quite odd really... works fine on my new WinXP computer tho...

For the napalm grenades, the fire itself doesnt do damage. If a grenade impacts on a ceiling, and the fire falls to the ground, it wont hurt. I suspect it is a stationary, temporary damage volume?

oh, yah I forgot to mention that... yes the flames do go in the water but cause no dammage.

Since I cant put this in the more appropriate place at the moment, i'll do so here:

All the weapon animations seem fine now, except the ripper fire/reload animation. The animation of the discs popping into the fire chamber does not play quickly enough to keep up with the fire rate when the fire button is held down. The down animations make the transition between one weapon and another much smoother now though :p

Is there any chance to get the flames from napalm grenades doing damage to players? It's just nice to put anything under flames with shooting napalmgrenades at the ceiling - a cool effect, but that doesn't hurt anyone :(

Currently there is no way to detect this. The flames are made with epic's particle system. Particles do not have any properties to them. Epic's Weather effects are a special class. However they use custom native code that is not availble to us mod authors. So until Epic provides a hook into their system to control the particles we have to live with this limatation....

We did not have time to get every thing in this version. MUG will most likely replace the LinkGun.

The Claw2 rotates with the Bio Gun which is not used as much as the others are :(

Thats a feature of UT2k3 :) Trying being in GOD mode and jumping into the lava of CTF-Magma :)

The older version had a minor bug..well techinally we code part of that just did not finnish it... Anyways the bots when flashed should stop firing and back up a bit. Let us know if you dont see this.

right now the part that cause the damage does not move. We can see about changing that. So it attempts to fall as fast as the flames do. Again its a limiation of the particle system. Hopefully the particle system will get tweaked and improved in the next UT version so that we can use the particles to do damage and detect when they are in water...

It's the same way with the Poison grenades. I was hoping that damage would stay consistent with the particles placement or whatever, but it doesn't :(

Some other things I want to mention too:

1) could you increase the volume slightly for the flyby sounds of the Cutter blades and arrows (when they fly by your head)??

2) Could the napalm grenades leave a couple plumes of smoke when it burns out?

3) when you hold down the Cutter secondary fire, the animation twitches back to horizontal when it tries to reload, and then twitches back again for firing. It looks kind of funny.
(I also noticed what was previously mentioned about the Cutter reload animation not keeping up with the fire rate).

4) Also, will we ever get those ricocheting sniper bullets, like in ChaosUT?
(Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez :lol: )

5) Howcome I can't use the Claw after all my proxies and mines run out?
I thought we could still use it as a melee weapon...
Maybe you could implement a second weapon mode for melee, that we could select at anytime ;)

BTW, if anyone is wondering, DM-Aristocracy is the PERFECT map for ChaosUT2. You can grapple all over that baby!
That is the type of maps I would like to see in the official mappack.

I can`t set a Filter in the Server-Browser. It`s just searching for Chaos-Server`s in the moment. Or can I restore the original UT2k3-ServerBrowser?

viper: use the regular UT2003 menu for the normal server browser. ChaosUT2 is still fully functional no matter which menu you choose. the alternate menu was added to A) look cool and B) be a convinence for finding chaos servers.
