One for Duel!

Transcendent Blade or (Transcendent Sabre)
Diffrent from the norm as it acts upon you health to the amount of
damage it is capable of doing and the Length of its blade.
So if you have 100% health the blade will be short and wont deal
so much damage, but as you health decreases its damage and size
increases. So, as you grow weak it grows more powerfull. :twisted:

Oh and I almost forgot... it gives off this ethereal glow!

Hmm... the primary fire of that "Lance" suggestion on the first page gave me an idea.
Basically, hold down Fire and you can lock each warhead onto 6 different targets or just tap fire to dumbfire it(still splits into 6 warheads tho)

What about a weather-gun.
Ammunition:
-Thunder-storm. A Dark cloud hanging a little bit higher than the players. lightnings can hit Players under that cloud. For the could you could use a similar effect as for the poison-grenade. for the bolts you could use a similar effect as the lightning-gun.
-Hurricane. throws players in the air and hurts them by smash them against walls or on the ground. (and if you shoot some razor-blades in the hurricane, people in the hurricane won't like you :twisted: )
-Snow-storm. Slows down players that are in, and makes them loose health constantly. (frost patterns on the screen would be nice).

Many of these weapons are already in Unreal4Ever or Excessive. Chaos has a different theme than these mods, and I think it'd be a mistake to make CUT like those others. So please, devs, choose new weapons carefully!

That said, here's my own Melee contributions:

Quarter-staff
Heavily defensive, longer range attacks at lower damage. The ability to trip/throw an opponant, who would have to dodge or something to get up. Perhaps the ability to disarm an opponant, who would then have to retrieve their weapon from the ground.

Entropy Shield
A replacement for the Shield gun. This would be capable of short range melee attacks, but would be chargeable like a shield gun. The shield itself would have to be "raised" (ala secondary fire) to protect versus incoming shots.

The difference comes from gun users who target someone using an Entropy Shield. They would lose ammo at the rate of 10 shots per second by even pointing their guns at the player, as the Entropy Shield drained the life from the weapon. This would allow melee players to close ranks with gun users.

Shots drains passively from enemies would be worth 1 ammo each to the shield-user, while shots deflected would be worth 3 ammo each. The Entropy Shield would start with 100 ammo, use it at a rate of 5 per second for an active shield, and not regenerate on its own; the player would have to face enemies and absorb their ammo and shots for that to happen.

Well, the way I see it, Chaos now is "king" when it comes to melee weapons. There isn't another mod out there that has true melee combat on the level that Chaos does.

So, given this, we should be able to create whatever melee weapons we want, short of a lightsaber or any other copyrighted material, and claim originality.

And I have the feeling the rest of the team is just getting started when it comes to dreaming up new melee weapons. But first things first, we've got some stuff to patch up and then we can get going on the new stuff.

yeah sort of.. well actually a while back I had suggested that the cut rocket uses cluster rockets as maybe a second ammo type or primary ammo. Then the alt-function button could be used to guide them.

That also came from the game Alien vs. Predator 2's Predator disc. Throw it with primary, come back with secondary.

Weapons :

Bola Gun
A primitive looking weapon that launches two heavy metal balls tied to gether with a black chain. The gun itself launches the projectile with a springloaded action, simular to a crossbow. The projectile does massive damage but moves fairly slowly through the air. when moving it would be nice to have a whispy trail simular to the arrows while it spins. When the Bola impacts a player or wall it switches to a karma mode where it just falls to the ground with a clunk like the chaos dual bastard sword or axe. the karma model would conssist of two balls, and three or fore stick like leads connecting the balls like a chain. I say three or four since it would be overly taxing for a system to proccess the individual karma data for every chain link.

Bracers
Sounds like armor don't it?
The bracers represent Melee hand-to-hand melee combat. The bracers allow you to parry sword blows while your acctual strikes are bare handed. I was thinking of it being simular to the Daggers in play style, fast and decent defence.

Short Sword and Buckler
A defensive buckler is on the left arm while the warriro holds a shortsword in his right hand. The defense would be simular ar to daggers in that you have a high defence. Your blows are as slow as the long sword but do more damage than the dagger.

Remote Cannon

Small flying sattelite type gun that hovers along side you it works sort of like the bits in shooter games like r-type and gradius. They Shoot either standard ammunition or link gun blasts and a third type provides defensive functions shoots down rockets and takes out proxy mines that are coming torwards your front. Alt fire would have you hold down your crosshair on a target and it would fly over to the target and shoot at it. Of course you should be allowed to shoot the sattelites down. Sattelites only have about 30 secs of life b4 they run out of fuel, hit the ground and self destruct soon afterwards.

Chaotic dreams reintroduced the bladelauncher... I loved the double enforcer in the 1st UT... it can be a good idea reintroducing it... i think...
