Well,this is my opinion

1)Throwable weps would disrupt the balance
2)Daikatana,ninja-to...all too similiar to the katana or other chaos weps

this should be in general UT disscuss for Maps and things means maps and map related things

maybe you could list the weapon you thought off

Hmm, It WOULD be nice with a few new mellee weapons.. or just melle weapons that are maybe shorter or longer, using same animations sets.

Tridents? Spears? NUnchucks woulda been sweet as! pole arms in general,
morning star, Chain with spiked ball (again check the NINJA ROPE mod for 2k3 for coding ideas.. seems possible.).
Claws/armblades/elbow blades
Rapier, etc. Scimitar!

Shields would be sweet!

I'd like to mention that although we really would like them in as much as you , hinged weapons such as the morning star , nunchaku , and chain with spiked ball are impossible for hte game engine to handle.

I've been lobbying for a Scimitar/Khopesh combo (similar to the dual daggers) for the Egyptian models to use for some time. Only time will tell what things we will be able to add.

I have to agree w/ TKATK, there is no need for anymore "ninja" weapons they all do look alike and shurikens doesn't even fit into melee because shurikens are not melee weapons...

Although I would like to see more two-handed weapons like Pikes, Spears, Tridents, and Bo-Staffs... Maybe a few arm weapons such as the weapon that the Demon Hunter from Warcraft 3 used would be nice I believe they are called Kantars

Well atm we have our hands full with the UT2k4 conversion as well as getting the bugs out of the mug and adding other features that were already planned. But once we get that version to you, then we can go back an address other weapons we need to add, CAS12, more melee, ect?

New melee weap- the elbow blade

Post by ChaosJester »

Could elbow blades be done? For a good example of how they work look at Soul Calbur II if anyone has it. They look like this:

side

/------------------------------------------------\
\___|_|_________________________/

they are of course held in the elbows with the things that jut out of the long blades they are double bladed and are bladed even behind the elbow so you can do moves where you hit someone behind you. If it is possible, they could act similar to double daggers but shorter and could be spun. They are midde eastern style (Egyptian) + Arm weap + dual weap, act different from anything else, and are a skill weap that you can play well with quick but is hard to master since they are an upclose weapon. The trick to them is normally speed so they are great for quick combat against 1 opponent like Duel but are not overpowered even in the hands of an expert since they are normally weak. Stargazer79 - I hope these are what you meant by elbow blades. I agree scimitars would be SWEET :!:
Jingle, jingle, boom. Oops, you're dead.
That sucks cause I wanted to play....
But let the show go on!

It's not impossible, but it would require a whole new set of tweaked animations.

I'm pretty sure the elbow blades are called tonfas. Usually, they are just hard wood sticks, and you'll see the police use them. But the idea's great, if you ask me.

Elbow blades would be awesome, and it would be a fresh new type of weapon. Variety is always good.

Btw, I just bought and watched KILL BILL Vol. 1 today, and I'm gettting a hankerin' to do some team dueling! Preferably just me against a crowd of enemy bots with gibalicious on.

Tonfas are more like a club than a blade so there are real differences, for example, if a tonfa hits you if you are careless you usually just get bruised, but with an elbow blade you can lose something quite easily, like an arm.

Shuri, who do you think gave me the idea?
