crosshair disapear

I dont understand this bug. But after a while in torlorn with the chaos mutator my crooshairs disapeared. However I fixed this by loading my weapon data and setting every thing to default. However I dont understand what happened. Oh yeah make the grapple cable longer for extreme raptor flying!

I went in and checked this out and I think it has something to do with the Grow Hud and Shrink hud commands (mapped to - and = by default) Try changing them to a different pair of keys somewhere out of the way for now.

The loss of the crosshair is a very persistant bug thats been around since PR1 in UT2k3, It has something to do with the laser's on our RL and SR.

Bleh.. beta testers always forget the easy way to fix:

Just turn on the "use xhair with laser" option and it should solve the problems.

Jedi . nope. this time it's different. Only fix is to go into the weapons tab and hit Defaults. And Im certain that it's related to the Grow hud/Shrink Hud controls.

well changing the xhair setting used to work once you got the bug. I was referring to preventing it in the first place.

That said.. ive kept my hud size about the same since i started.. only really ever changed it once.

I was getting this WITH use Xhair with Laser turned on. And hte Grow Hud / shrink hud , doesnt change your Hud size, it removes aspects of the hud such as the weaponbar , adrenaline , your own health and ammo displays etc.

Silly coders . gotta tell em everything.

Well it grows and shrinks the amount of space on the screen taken up by the HUD. Personally i do a partial disable on the weapon bar, but i have had no xhair problems.

However.. now that you mention it.. one of the growth levels probably has a hide crosshair as part of it.. Which means theres little we can do.

yes . however Growing the Hud doesnt return the Xhair.

Think its an epic bug was my point.

I think the same thing happens with togglescreenshotmode.

It IS an Epic bug. When you go tot he Settings screen in game, and if you aren't using custom crosshairs (ie, if you have one crosshair for everything) then your crosshairs disappear. You have to open the weapon menu, and if your crosshairs arent' there, DON'T DEFAULT. Just press ESC to go back to the UT2K4 scoreboard, then go to the settings again and it should still be on the weapons tab. Now your crosshairs are back. It's a well known bug bu they're too stupid to fix it or something.

Not familiar with the one you guys are on about. Though I do remember a changelog from Epic that mentioned a crosshair fix.

But just FYI, Chaos has it's own losing-crosshair bug, that has nothing to do with the HUD-size-changer-buttons.

And as of right now, I couldn't tell you which one the guy has spotted.
