A external server browser?
Is there one (not Gamespy Arcade) that supports UT2K4, & can get a server list from a .txt file. I can not get any choas servers in the UT2K4 server browser, I have the choas filters. They are out there right? I just love Chaos & want to play it.

In a perfect world, you would be correct hal. But the fact is that Epic's master server has a history of being unreliable, which means the built-in Chaos filters often won't work.
This isn't too big of a deal though, if you play and/or use the in-game browser even just once in awhile. Because all you gotta do is use the filters when it's working, and add servers to your favorites. Those will still show when the master server is down. Or, you can simply grab IP's from various places (ie: my sig, our servers page), and just add them manually (servers change often, and the servers page isn't always exactly correct - not gonna update it every day - but it'll get you started at least).
So yes, the master server being down is in fact a problem. Every time a new-ish player wants to join us, we run the risk of losing them for good. But not a real big deal once you've known about it.
But as mentioned, there are also other filters available, just google them to find your flavor.
I've always hoped that someday down the road we could include a built-in Chaos 'Tray-Spy' thingy. So you could turn it on, sits in your tray, and scans your favorite Chaos servers, alerting you when somebody joins (or even have a buddies list, to alert you when they joine). It won't force people to play Chaos online, but it might help spark a few games.

jb, talk to the XFire people. If you convince them of the size of the Chaos online community, they might be able to add you as a supported UT2k4 mod. Great way to attempt to expand the online community IMO. Plus the users get IM too.
Jingle, jingle, boom. Oops, you're dead.
That sucks cause I wanted to play....
But let the show go on!
