Well, the biggest difference looks like it'll be kismet, the visual scripting system, which will let you do a lot of cool stuff, baisically let you be your own scripter even if you can't script. The material editor is gonna see a major major overhaul, here's a screenie, the content browser 'll be a tad different, and if you want to see all the new buttons in the editor you can go here. Here's a screenie of the realtime terrain editing, which will have the cool ability to automatically change the terrain depending on the altitude(for making a fast snow-capped mountain for example). There's a cool particle editor, a physics editor, and a physics editor doing somthing cool with a skeleton. I believe all of these work in real time. It has also been announced that all renderable objects will have properties such as friction, but I haven't seen a screenie of the editor for that yet. No kismet screenies either. Another guess on my part is that the level optimization process will change a little, due to the new seamless massive world support. Oh, and a few of these things may already be in unrealed, but I wouldn't know, seeing as how I only know enough of unrealed to box myself into a room with a few weps, no static meshes, and incredibly badly done lighting, with absolutely nothing interactive(unless you count the weaponpickups) :P .

Timegate has liscenced UE3. They make Kohan and Axis & Allies, neither of which I have played. However, they are both RTS games I hear, so it's likely that whatever next-gen game they come out with next will be an RTS. That looks like all the news on it for now.

There seems to be new info on an upcoming UE3 game, it's codename is Envy, and it looks to be a new entry in the UT franchise. BU has put up a message board for it here.

In other news, UNREAL 3: Slug Saga has been announced! It's a new epic single player game to feature slugs and space clowns. Quoth beyondunreal: "The highly-anticipated sequel will feature intricate, story-driven non-linear gameplay, allowing a gamers to take an infinite number of paths through the adventure. "Basically, you go around collecting Nali Rabbits" said Producer Peeve Stolge, "but our writers are working on a compelling story that will take players on an emotional roller-coaster ride, climaxing with the death of our hero's only friends at the end of the game... again. Dang.""

THEY ARE REPLACING THE MINIGUN???

REMOVING A MAJORITY OF THE TEAMS???

DROPPING BR AND AS???

BTW: what do they mean - the bounciness of UT04?

Whats with the 18 new vehicles, of which 9 are from ECE?

How is Chaos gonna handle this???

Replacing minigun:too early to decide,i kinda liked the mini,honestly
Removing teams:THEYRE ADDING NECRIZ,YAAAAAHOOOOOO NOW UT WILL FEATURE BLOODY KRALL ON NECRIS ACTION
Dropping BR and AS:BR will be added in the first month via mod,AS will be started within the first month as a mod
Replacing AR with Enforcers:Good riddance
18 new vehicles:That means there are 2 teams,Axon and necris...one of them is upgraded standart vehicles,and hte other brand spanking spanky sets of wheels

We already have textures and Models in the works, and a completed story in which clubs of small children roam the planet taking part in tournaments where they test their skill against other children playing cards . What new weps/vehicles and features is chaos going to add, other than those already encompassed by CUT2. Also, how is Chaos going to modify weps like the Claw2, etc to fit in with the Unified Grenade Launcher thingy...?

I'm glad the enforcers are coming back, but if they're the same as the UT ones, the CPP will almost the same gun.
I'll miss the minigun, but hopefully they'll put something better in it's place... hopefully
As for gametypes, since I got UT 2004 I've played bombing run maybe 4 times. I won't miss it. Getting rid of assault is a shame though, but again hopefully they'll put something better in it's place.
Oh, and the more vehciles the better I say :twisted:

i cant beleive after all the support for AS they are going to bin it AGAIN. idiots.

BR - its a bit of a shame cos this gamtype had potiential but never really got any really good maps to see it survive. Huge cinematic BR levels in the style of ONS +AS might have saved this gametype (even VBR would have been cool....)

AR- good idea to finally have a machinegun that isnt the minigun, but making it do like 0% damage was foolish. Long live Enforcers!

Loss of minigun. oh dear. why comtemplate loosing a gun iconic to the whole genre of fps? its been there since doom at least (wolfenstein had minigun?) thru almost every gun game. UT made that gun. im interested/anxious to see what the replacement is. i always liked the machine gun from unreal 2, something like that would rock.

Id like to see the ripper brought back, and maybe some melee weapons brought into the actual official release? i hated the close combat weapons of ut, like the piston gun and shield gun. too gimmicky, give me a big fekoff hunting knife anyday, or a chainsaw to hack holes into tank turrets.....yay.

i just hope the game lives up to the potiential of the engine....should be amazos.

I do not concur... I liked the AR. The Enforcers were kinda dum...

I would never want to see the minigun replaced... thoug I wouldn't mind an AR like the MG from U2 that u mentioned
