XMaps bug with ChaosDM Gametype

Hi all,


A long while ago I was using XMaps with Chaos V1, and was running a game with ChaosDM (the one with the slowmo-cam at the end). Well, when the next map loaded the game was stuck in slowmo still.

I was just wondering if this issue has been reported before, and if it was cleared up in 1.1.

I'm assuming its an XMaps issue, but I'm not 100% postive. I just thought a good headsup would be nice.

I doubt you'd release a new version just to fix this, since you guys are making some sweet progress on ChaosUT2! Looks awesome so far, I can't wait to see the first release!

Yeah man, I had the same thing happen to me. And no, we never did clear that up. Some kind of issue using the 2 together.

You can however, fix it in botmatches w/o quitting the game. Just hit escape, and under one of those menus is the Gamespeed slider. Just slide it back up to 100%. (though I always used 105% in UT myself)

Sorry man, I know it's a bummer, as I'm a big fan of XMaps myself. I'm hoping he's going to work on UT2, but haven't visited his site in a long time to find out.

Well, it looks like there may be good for XMaps/UT2003 ... Dr.SiN has announced in the Infogrames UT2003 forum that UWindows 2.0 is in development. UWindows is the architecture that XMaps' UI is based on, so if UWindows 2.0 is implemented with a similar interface to the original UWindows, then XMaps for UT2003 becomes a distinct possibility. So maybe I won't have to disappoint the users after all ;~)

It turns out that Epic are fans of XMaps too ... CliffyB has been in touch over the last couple of days, making it clear that they'd like to see XMaps return for UT2003. Watch this space - when UWindows 2.0 shows up, I'll see just how much work there is to do, and I'll let you all know what my plans are.
