ideas for a new mod : Chaos FTM
Hey....... i think the invasion mutator is quite boring, and i think many people never do it....
so you will need a more interesting gameplay against the monsters. i've got an idea; a circular map with several arena's, and only one area is accessible at a time, filled with monsters. when all the monsters are cleared, the door to the next arena opens. i think the maps would become big and complex, but the gameplay would be way more fun, because of all the different area's.
example;
there are 4 arena's; A,B,C,D and there are 4 rooms before the arena's to reload or recover; 1,2,3,4
when the game starts you'll start with your teammates in room 1. when everyone's there the door opens to arena A. kill all the bastard monsters and the door to room 2 opens, time for a reload/recovery. when everyone is in room 2 the door of arena A closes and the entrance to arena B opens.
but... it could be quite hard to make this real.

Anyways... here is the thing: The idea is nice, but you were right in saying that the invasion mutator is boring. IMHO, the whole invasion concept is boring and is kinda unimaginative. A more imaginative take on invasion would be doing something while attempting to fight off hordes of monsters. The monsters should not be the main objective. If the players had to do an assault mision and the enemy was the hordes of monsters, that would be cool. If the players had to blow up an onslaught power core in fixed time and also were fighting hordes of beasts, that would be awsome...

The HH gametype we have is flexible enough to support a boss type monster. In fact we have had the code ready for one since its very frist versions. We just never had a model for it... What we were looking for is another modeler to join the team as we have lots of models waiting to be done (just too more for HH, then we have ChaosCTF best, Team teleports, CAS12, ect...)

The Imp always was. Kind of the Chaos whipping boy. People curse him, accuse him of being buggy, kick him repeatedly, and pound on him with every weapon in the game, and he just flies around in circles and takes it. By the time he does go down, he's usually tricked half the players in the game into killing each other.
