Known Bugs & Issues - PR 3.7 (fixed for next patch?)

Help us to update this list, and we'll update it with notes on what's fixed for an upcoming patch that we hope to do.

Confirmed Bugs & Issues
-------------------------------

- CCTF, weird 'horizontal' flag carrying on some players backs --(triggers needed, ie: if we know what causes it, we can fix it)

- 'Vehicle stacking' in Submagma

- at least one place in Bastion that the flags can get stuck, I recommend removing it from rotation - just until this can be tweaked to avoid any un-fun situations

- Player models are often screwed up the 1st time they get on Bike. It's as if they are seated in a Scorpion

- Crossbow, online only; if you use the AWO and the alt-fire mode to use single charged arrow, you will hear the crossbow-charging sound repeatedly until you either die or toss your crossbow.

- issues with CCTF WarmUp if timer is set to less than 120 seconds (ie: it's still playable, but announcer/timer may not match actual start of game).

- If you are playing DUEL (edit: or HH, thanks Pad) on someone's listen server, you are forced to have the same weapon as the host player chooses. [Rythmix 05/13/06]



Known Issues (no need to report again):
----------------------------------------------------

- Chaos weapons online don't always auto-change when running out of ammo.

- Crossbow - when using the charged arrow option, sometimes when you fire it right away w/o 'charging', you still get the sound of it being pulled back and 'charged'.

- Grenade Launcher - if jumping/swinging/floating forward while aiming slightly downward, you will often times somehow hit yourself with the grenade - when it really seems like you shouldn't. And with other weapons in same move, you don't hit yourself. It's almost as if moving in this way somehow causes the nades at times to just 'fall out' of the launcher and hit your feet or something, instead of being "launched" forward and away from you.

- Bots go for SpyProxies instead of the player controlling them, even if player is in plain sight and nearby - engine limitation

- Turrets - When turrets are killed incorrect "You were killed by..." HUD messages appear - known bug/design issue

- Claw2 online change-ammo animation/skin bug

- Some issues of items going thru players models and whatnot, like how CCTF flags go thru player models, and some other things like the Gargoyle's axe, etc

- In melee, if two players are adjancent to each other, they will often times not cause any damage to each other. This is especially easy to see this is in HH due to the crowding of the monsters.

- Mesh in Submagma under tank has no collision. Hoverboard can be "lost" into it.




Notes:

- Bots forget they have the flag - confirmed as Epic bug

- 'Returned flag' loop - confirmed as Epic bug, server fix is available

Has a change been made to weapons switching, I noticed the weapons know longer switch when you run out of ammo.

Nothing really has changed. The problem (I think) is how the ammo is delt with. As you know normal UT does not support mulitple ammo types, so we had to hack in a system to support that. We first did this with UT2k3 and used its Ammo system. However UT2k4 has a DIFFERENT ammo system and the two are not compatible. So there is something in the differences of how the weapon checks for ammo. We tried to replace that but so far no luck. What I still have not been able to find is the key. If I go on a server I have a very hard time to see the bug... So what we need is either a complete rewrite from the ground up of our weapons/ammo system that uses the same system UT2k4 or to find the key trigger (or triggers) and see if we can fix it there...

Been with us all along.

Happens multiple times every single game (at least it always has for me). It's one of the biggest issues Chaos has had concerning online play, if not The biggest.

This is the first time I've had the problem. In version 3.6 when I ran out of a specific ammo it would switch to the next weapon according to how I have them prioritize in the game settings.

My horde hunters keeps crashing with

Genman, those are the hardest bugs to fix... (or so I'm told), the ones that don't happen to everybody, or don't happen all the time. My understanding however is that this is something we'll have to live with in '04, and hope for better in 07.

heheman, can you try and repeat that on our 'clean' test server and if it happens there post those logs for Jb in beta section? You know what I mean, games/logs with no other mods muts. Please?

Crossbow-With charged arrows,you seem to be still able to fire even when you have

Claw-When a genmokai is running around,the claw positions itself at a wrong angle(not sure if it happens in attack animations too)

I'm adding here what I wrote on the other post.

Some other bugs:

-You figured it out yourself, sometimes it becomes very hard to kill someone in close quarters, especially if all bots are surrounding a monster. Longer weapons should also be able to inflict damage at a short distance (ex: Giant skeleton axes)

- Imps are still prone to get stuck from time to time. Good thing I always use crossbow as I had to kill them with it.

-Gasman need a custom sound when he is hit. Otherwise I'm often confused if I shot him or another bot/player

PS: last thing I forgot to add: Sometimes when you change weapon from the First person mode to the third person mode (crossbow>melee), the character seems to slide a little bit.

Dunno if this is a bug, But The Chaos Bike doesn't show up in Vehicle stuff or any vehicle Switcher utility. This makes it hard to set all vehicles as Hoverboard or bike :O

Hmm... Any way to make it work? I can switch vehicles with the hoverboard, but not the bike. Odd.

YAY! IT'S WORKING! I just installed the latest UT patch...

Anyhow, IT ROXXORS! (Except for the fact that the BehicleStuff Mutator tends to screw up the Cicada and CUT bike fire...)

BTW: I could find no probs but this: CUT Bike has problems with reversing. When you look left and reverse, you turn back right. Technically, like with the scorpion, etc., you should turn back left when you look left cause of the wheels' alignment. That's it...
