This rocks. Plain and simple.

Just one thing:

Why are the bots SO GOOD!? I mean, I'm playing a 20 flag match at godlike skill and one bot racks up a score of 10000+

Also, the shield kinda sucks. Correction: REALLY sucks. On the hoverboard... It's pretty useless. It disrupts the rate of fire, makes the hoverboard go down (and usually take damage off the ground) and doesn't prevent kills...

The railgun is also... much better than the hoverboard weapon. The hoverboard cant do crap really. A lot of the time, I find that the game degenerates into some sort of HICTF - Hyper Instagib CTF... with everyone on the ground using railgun altfire...

hmmm....



I was wondering, if the hoverboard could be made faster and more manoeuverable. You know - REALLY hyper... :twisted:

Also, both the Hoverboard weapon and the ground weapon should be made into a single weapon. Not a railgun, not the laser, but something inbetween. An instanthit, splash damage weapon. Something like an instanthit rocket launcher, but with energy projectiles instead of rocket projectiles... somewhat like the concussion rifle from JK3, but with a slower rate of fire.

Everything else ROCKS beyond reckoning!




Summary:
IMHO, these things could change:
> Increase Hoverboard speed/manoeverablility
> Change weapons
> Remove shield
> Make bots less proficient than God... or at least less proficient than genman1{HHR}... :D

Can't get damage from the ground while the shield is on.

Thanks for the feedback, I thought I saw that when you hit the shild it does drop down..I will see if that an easy fix. Thanks again!

That's true, but with the shield activated:

> You can fall into a cravace/lava/etc. and die
> You can't fire
> You mess up your intended movement, and inevitably get shot if you are playing against with skill level above 'Experienced'
> You can still get killed by the rail gun alt fire


I think that the shield isn't that great, even if it doesn't make you go down. Either make it block all damage, or let you at least fire while it is active...

Some of this I agree with, and some not as much. For example, I wouldn't want the shield to save you somehow when you fall in lava, but I agree that it should not prevent you from firing.

As far as the bot's skill level, I usually play with Masterful bots, and that's what we sorta based this on when designing it (ie: we had to play with the 'aim error' for bots and the HB weapon). But HCTF or not, Godlike bots have always been frustrating. I can compete with them at mid-range fighting sometimes, but real close up, and from distance they are a bit too much. At least for me. So yeah, I would expect them to be pretty dominating in a instagib type game like HCTF.

We'll definitely keep it all in mind. Usually don't like to make game play changes too quickly though. Hopefully we'll (me, you, others) spend some time playing online, and see how it goes. I'm very much open to suggestions, so long as folks are actually playing. :wink: Please keep them coming.
