Well, this is a time capsule. Found that not only does this site still exist, but ChaosUT2 still works and there's even a server still running. I'm sure nobody plays it anymore but I'm glad it's there. Not only that, but I was actually able to log into this old account with posts from 16 years ago.

I used to play a ton of ChaosUT2 back when it was popular, specifically melee Duel. Was a part of the Generals and had many a fun night on their servers back in the mid 2000s. I remember back when Chaos was packed to the gills with people and it was hard even getting into a match because the servers were always filled to capacity. Those were the days, back early on when nobody knew how to play yet and even a basic knowledge of UT2004's movement mechanics meant you could dominate servers. Still have a giant folder of Chaos screenshots, in their glorious tiny resolution and all-caps font because I had a garbage PC back then.

So yeah, just wanted to say hey, and thanks for keeping this site going.

Yes indeed, quiet days in the UT world at the moment though you do see a few Chaos servers up.
Some of the massive city maps people made in later years are great for using the grapple and hoverboard.
I also love the duel game mode. I used to use the UT2004 RPG mutator so I also had magic weapons and abilities. Chaos is a perfect partner for it.

We were working on a UT4 version but that path ended one fortnight, so we swapped to the full UE4 and a longer road to a full game.

Feel free to post some old screenshots (or new if you decide to reinstall).
We are a bit more active in the discord than here, so feel free to join us there.

Here in 2022 now and I feel similarly. Some of the posts are so ancient, that it is really fascinating. The only difference is that this is my first time on the forums, but I'm intrigued nonetheless.

Not much activity here these days.
The discord gets more use, but there isn't a big community these days.
