I was just messing about in chaos, trying to nail raptors with the railgun, when I came up with this great idea for the railgun.
It's, wait for it, a scope! :P

All kidding aside, what I did come up with is a new ammo type for it:
Plasma bolts!
Instead of firig a solid slug, the gun fires a bolt of fusing plasma - While the kinetic energy is reduced, the thermal transfer is even greater, even after absorbtion by shielding, and the ionised gas has unusual side effects on metallic structures...

Prim. fire: Plasma bolt slightly lower damage/speed than normal, but sets organic targets on fire. Against vehicles, hull ionisation causes guides missiles within a certain radius to lock on and target the ionised hull, regardles of who fired them (should apply to AVRiL rockets, maybe to raptor missiles/cicada secondary fire, not CUT RL, spidermines or proxies, unless funny)

Secondary fire: plasma overload; sets a clip of plasma bolts on feedback overload and drops it where player stands. They then have x seconds to get away, before clip explodes with similar effects to primary fire, only in a fairly wide radius.

Anyway, I wasn't really trying to hit raptors with the railgun - I was picking them off with the Leviathan Main Gun on ONS-MZ-Raptorskies. Damn thats funny. (yeah, I mean the vortex cannon beam thingy - the missiles make it too easy :wink: )

How about a rune that lets you shoot laser beams out of your eyes. :lol:

Anyway, the Chaos team should bring back death feigning and manual vomiting from ChaosDM.

From what I understand, it has more to do with changing the "body" back from Karma ragdoll than anything else

Feigning death could be easily done without a raagdoll. and each model already has the animations there.

as ragdolls twitch around pritty much all the time,i doubt anyone would mistake a static feigning player for a twitching ragdoll

Feigning death would be useless with the newer engine. A player would instantly be able to tell the diffrence between a ragdoll and player laying in a death animation.

well if they ever do get a Feign death mode (probly would be an Adren-Combo) itd justify me shooting corpses :P

but i always wondered if they could add a "prone" position to the movment controls...

but what good would proning do for you in the fast paced world of unreal tournament. Weapons are already perfectly accurate, and the loss of movement speed would far outweigh any benefits.

proning in the foliage/shallow water/on the top of a cliff/ridge would propably make you alot harder to notice or hit...soo its kinda like a ultimate sniping position
