Clarification

I think I need to clarify this a little...
I still see that Quake 1 still has MODs made for it and I hope that someday somebody takes up the challenge of doing the Chaos Arena code from scratch.
I know it is dead right now, but there is a lot of stuff already completed and it wouldn't take any more than an experienced coder to get it back pretty quick.
If I were staying here and not deploying to war in a few days I would prolly try to recruit somebody myself "I just don't have the time".
What I really was talking about is making just the shell of a page ( maybe even adding one ) to have a place to post news, advertisements and "help wanted posts" on future ideas and Game Platforms that Chaos might eventually be modded for...
Not a redirect ( which looks pretty cool ) but a main "Everything Chaos Page" just like Planetquake has, to post news about all things chaos related.
I know at this time that the Unreal Tourney MOD is the only active project happening right now, but I hope that by the time I come back we can build a team for Doom 3 and/or Quake 4.
I saw what happened when the GOTY and also way back when Quake 2 Chaos Mod took off, our community grew very quickly and I would like something to showcase not only UT but the Quake 2 and any future MODs and platforms too...
Also Mass left the shell from the Quake 3 ChaosArena Page up for me, just in case... I'm not trying to hang on to a dead MOD, just leaving it in place to keep the options open.
"You never Know"
What I was talking about is kind of tying the main pages together just as a News Page, where any posts made on any of our pages would show up there. And seeing if anybody would be interested in doing a newsletter.
That would be a good place to leak info, screenies, and recruit, without people having to go through the forums all the time. I know you also want people active in the forums but remember that most don't have access to the whole lower half of the forums.
Maybe the reason that there is some confusion is that the UT MOD is the only active one right now and people are thinking that it would be redundant to do this as it is already being done on the one active sight, I am just trying to think ahead a little to the next couple Game platforms.
And maybe it is too soon, but I plan on really hitting the MOD community to recruit Modders when I get back, to get a jump on Quake 4 and Doom 3 as soon as possible. I have to have a place to post news on future Chaos platforms and advertise for team members other than the forums, and since it isn't gonna be for Unreal Tournament it wouldn't be appropriate to advertise it there.
That is all I am talking about...
A Chaos MOD Team main page, not for Quake 2, Quake 3, UT or anything else, but I wanted to make it dual purpose by also tying in the news posts from all future and present Chaos pages so that it is active and a shortcut for ppl just looking for news about Anything Chaos.
The newsletter was just an afterthought as a service to anyone interested.
I have really been active here in some very large Lan's, and in both CPL, and CAL events on the west coast, I go every year to Quakecon and have some good contacts, and I guess this page idea is kind of an extension of that. We ran the regional qualifier for the CPL here for their last winter event in Dallas. And one of the cool things that I saw at all these ( including our event ) was some of the Modders coming out to the events and meeting people.
I have drank Beer with or talked to PappyR ( Planetquake ),a couple guys who run Gamespy, the people who created Punkbuster, and I just wanted to model our site after them.
Planet Quake --- Everything Quake
Chaotic Dreams --- Everything Chaos
It could take the place of the Announcements string of the forums, and all team members could have access to post news tidbits about anything they wanted too. such as new server URL's and status of the Mod etc... Something along those lines.
I know it is probably a little pre-mature but if I've learned nothing else from the ChaosArena situation, I have learned not to wait until the last minute and then throw it together.
