i disagree. both one of the people in the "flag battle" and the sniper have the same desire- for the flag to be dropped/protected. Sniping here is no less dishonorable than sniping normally is. If nailing a headshot there would win you the game, and not doing it would lose it, youre saying you wouldnt do it? thats like asking a [american] football team to down the ball instead of go for a field goal. You seem to forget that most people have a desire to win, and most will chose a perfectly legitimate tactic to win over losing just to save their "honor."

If my team mate with the flag is fighting another flag runner, I'm not going to watch the battle, I'm going to want to help and I"m sure the other sniper will try to do the same thing. I really don't understand your point that much, but if you really don't want snipers ruining your flag fight, play a map that has no snipers. I agree with what qazzTahngarth said. How is shooting the enemy flag runner while fighting your flag runner a cheap tactic? People play to have fun and it is more fun popping the enemy flag runner's head off then watching them fight your own team mate. Infact, your flag runner might say "why are you not helping me and just standing there?" and other stuff.

Yes sorta...problem is that the bullets pass by so fast that their path is only bent a little bit.elpollodiablo wrote:its always fun to launch one close to yourself and then grapple yourself to a wall and constantly climb up the grapple to keep from dying. but, can the vortexes pull in the bullets from the sniper rifle?

I've seen rockets get pullet in and other slower moving projectiles. There is a pic around here somewhere of the rockets getting 'diverted' by vortex.
On the particle emmiters side: only so much we can include in BETA1 and still release it shortly.

I use the grapple to escape the vortex all the time, but it is trickier in CE, becaue the grapple hook itself gets pulled by the vortex.
If you're far enough away from the vortex, or you fire it off before the vortex "activates" you can get away from it. But there's a certain point to where if you're too close it doesn't matter what you do, you're dead.
But it was a rude awakening for me when I first tried to grapple away from a vortex and was horrified to see the grapple hook slow down in mid air, and then start flying back over my head, along with me... into the vortex...
But once you learn thier subtle tendencies, you can escape them with good timing... And it's rewarding too, since you get to watch all the corpses flailing around from a distance, grappled safely to a wall.
