Here's an idea for an original weapon: A spiked whip! Could have some special abilities, like the ability to grab people's weapons and other things. Maybe like a pseudo-grapple. Would be cool for all those Indana Jones fans out there -- or the Dominatrix types...

that hammer looks awesome, but the katana... I love Katanas but that won just does'nt slice and dice well with me. maybe it's the red in it.

A all melee setting will be great with all the differnt weapons to choose from.

It's not possible to make a weapon like a whip, sorry. Animation problems due to no-ridgid bones.

What about the Inclusion of a Small throwing knife , in which primary throws , and secondary jabs. It could be capable of headshots , and sticking into players.

And what about the Chainsaw we discussed a while ago , thats a melee weapon too .

lastly , You said that Jointed and Chain based weapons were a No-no , but what about a Karma object (such as a flag , or ribbon) being attatched to a staff for Visual effect ?

EDIT: oh , and if you do end up with a staff in there , The Death message could be something like (Player) gave (Player 2 ) The shaft.

actually.. the flags in CTF attach in the same manner as the sword does... so at one point we had a sword/flag that you could swing.

No idea if we are going to keep it or do anything else along those lines though.

Perhaps in ChaosCTF , you could wield the Flag as a Weapon when youre the runner.

The idea was discussed but decided against.

We're going to have the flag strapped to a player's back now, like in UT1.

I wouldn't mind having a karma-based weapon. If its just for visual effect, we could make a mace, and can put the damage tracer in a logical position, the position of the ball itself wouldn't matter and thus wouldn't need to be replicated (making karma possible).

yeah like that kakutuo (sp?) 120% kung fu mut lol when you grab a flag in ctf it becomes a polearm basically its pretty cool.

Japan Has all the cool Weapons , like ninjas , and samarai , and Geisha , and The Evangelions , oh and a bunch of other crap from anime. But the Evangelions rock. Lets see some puny Vikings and Romans take on a single Evangelion unit.

ooh , and theyre making An Evangelion Live action movie , for all that are interrested

EDIT: and My anime Nerd level isnt really on that list. There are a lot of good points to anime, try finding an american show that Even comes close to competing with The likes of Cowboy BeBop or Neon Genesis Evangelion.

I like Japanese and Arabian weapons, or really just exotic/rare weapons in general. I also have a thing for slings (that rhymes, heh). Sometimes I like to go out in the desert and practice hitting targets with my home-made sling... It's surprisingly fun, in a stone-age sorta way.

I would also like to see a Khopesh, or maybe some Cesti... But we can't have all the weapons in the world in one mod
