Wy don't make it a mutator.
That if you add the mutator to the game you'll see with 1st person view.

We are working on it. But its not that easy as it looks like we will need custom 1st person animations

You guys should talk to Mr Evil from the Atari forums
He made a mutator that allows you to play reg 2k3 in 3rd person mode and the closer you get to your model/skin, the more transparent it becomes

thats a neat idea....
i dont understand why new animations have to be made at all though. too me its just seems like its a camera taht should be attached somewhere.
but im guessing thats not the case at all. behindview maybe uses totally difernt coding to a first person view. i guess i supposed a camera was just like that a camera, and if you attached it toa bone of a aplayer for example.. it would sit attached to that bone no matter how the player jumped around etc.
ive never understood why fps games cant see the feet etc if you torn the head. hmmm wonder how it really does work

when you are in normal first person mode, your pawn is actually invisible. What you see is just a second set of animations drawn on your HUD that mimic what your character is doing.
One way to sorta see this is when you do a sidways double jump, your character flips over depending on your model, but your view does not.

Heh, so we remove the head when in first person mode and replace it with a camera... That way the head doesn't block the camera view, and you can still see your swings.

That would give us a bunch of headless players

Not according to this, if I'm understanding right:

While the thought of a game full of headless players is kinda cool, what I was thinking was that the player is only headless to themselves.
Basically, everyone else sees the normal player, but the player "sees" himself without a head, but his viewpoint is where his head would have been. If he switches weapons to a gun, then it goes back to normal 1st person, if we switches to 3rd person, his head gets put back on.

aaah so none of those camera rolls in matrix movies is the real camera roll.. its just a copy of what it should look like.. why would you make yoru character invisable when your in first person?. i really cant wait for pr3 of chaos... should be sweet as.

And I think here's the 'issue'...
What you see is just a second set of animations drawn on your HUD that mimic what your character is doing.
Note the 'second' set of animations... They would need to be built for each setup. IIRC

Good point. But you still have the clipping issue. I have tried it were I go to pusdo first where my camera is placed a few inches out from where my eyes are. And I still get clipping. And its not the head that clips its the cool animations of the swing. Talking to Beppo he informed me that we (if we go that route) would have to redo the animations so they don't clip when in this mode.
