You see we are going to be the victims of our own sucess. And this is generally a good thing. What I mean is that as some of you have liked Duel the way it is. Others, who like it just as much see its potenial with just a few tweaks to become some thing more. Shadow is right we talked about Adrenalin before and never really found a good way to implement it. And now we have some that want it...and some that dont. The key here is comprimise. We have to find a way to make sure every one is happy. And ensure that way does not interfer for any new maps, game modes of duel. We have added one some other talent to help us in this steps because with Chaos lately...its not a matter of can we do it...its a matter do we have enough time/help to do it.

well,i think it would be the best if you implemented magic,and made a specific option/gametype where you use magic+melle and a only melle gametype,that would satisfy 2 of 3 sides(the third side is the one which wants smaller dl's :roll: )

Well but the difference is that switch arsenal is server-side. What I'm talking about is pitting one configuration against another. So that way you pick the spells that compliment your playing style, and try it out against someone else's picks. Hence the learning curve. Would be similar to the old Superheroes mod for Quake 1 and 2...

well,another thing you could do is make you choose mage or fighter at the start,mages have weaker but affecting spells,ranged,but fighters do more dmg,are melle and can do head shoots

honestly,I think adrenaline build up from landing hits or consecutive hits, then being able to do a combination of key taps to enable speed, shield, health increase, double damage, etc is MUCH better suited one-on-one melee fighting than to have shield, health, and double damage pickups in maps.
I think the aim of melee should be to fight- not to strategize the timing of power-ups in a map. Adrenaline is good because it encourages fighting and lets the fighter choose what power up they want once they've achieved full adrenaline and in mid fight too.
Regular ut2003 allready gives adrenaline for kills, so it really just needs re-enabled to count melee weapon hits as adrenaline builders.
Ps - I cannot over-emphazise how much I do not like pickups in melee maps - boo!!
(although my melee maps DO have pickups for now -only in the spirit of allow fights to be longer, but if the adrenalize system is implemented I will promptly remove them :) )

well,the disscusion has gone to magery in this thread,and the adrealine idea,i think it would be too boring becouse chars die only at 3-4 hits and the daggers would be the most adrealine sucking

I have a huge text file written up with a detailed description of my Ultimate Wizard idea, complete with a full description of spells and mediums. If the team gets interested in such an idea, I may post it to them. I personally think it would be a very interesting kind of Duel, and could adapt to other gametypes as well.
