i mean if they both fight, the one with the most health wins,if one runs,he explodes after a time of no damaging

problem is thats probably not possible unless it always counts down the 20-30 seconds(I don't know how you could code it to check if someone is "hiding or running away" I can't even think of a logical way to check).. in which case you could effectivly defeat someone by hitting them and then running away... you would have done damage more recently than them so they would die first.. lame....

i think it could be so that if you dont do any dmg in the last 10 sec,you die

Haven't heard anything against voting, maybe we should just go that way then?

I'm a big The Specialist mod kung fu player in Half-life, and an avid anticipator for Bushido...and if you know either of those then you can tell I'm a big melee guy. Hope you'll have melee in other gametypes soon because I like deathmatch over dueling...was why I never got into JKII, people kept whining that I was randomly attacking when they wanted to initiate duels first.
you should of waited just a month or 3 for ut2k4

Hedge-o-Matic wrote:Is it possible to alter Invasion so that when Melee weapons are chosen as the option, the monster mix changes to include only "melee" type creatures? Skarrj, for instance. Allow them to shoot, but make them stop when a player gets witin a certain range and rush them w/hand weapons. That could be sweet. The monsters would have to be modified to understand and use the melee system, and would need new animations as well. this would be quite a project.
we have some plans for inv and that could be considered!

Personally, I'd love to see Skarrj's claws supported in our melee system -- and be blockable, mainly...

I assume players would be participating somewhere in this?

players would be controlling the creatures, mind control darts?
or maybe betting, after each 5 human rounds is one creature round and people can bet who wins,1 or 2,the players who win gain a small boost in speed or damage, that would be good too

Actually, that doesn't sound like too bad of an idea
Something like...
Skaarj - 2 darts
Warlord - 3 darts
etc
And if you get killed and there's still monsters with your darts in them, you can take limited control of them just like proxies

Yes. This is the way to go, no doubt.

A few questions towards voting:

A) what if its a bot match (instant action)? How do the bots vote?

B) What if theres only 2 players (no one not fighting that can vote), or only 3 and 2 are friends that would vote for each other? Voting would be a bit lopsided

C) What if there is a tie in the vote

Edit: figure id toss in an idea:
After time is up, players have an additional 20 seconds of first blood combat to try to declare a victor. If no one hits after 20 seconds, they both drop.
