TKATK 8O Everyone understands what you are saying. Most anything you add to this game will be larger than what we were used to in old UT. This is the price we have to pay for all the extra detail and content the new game is capable of handling. BUT, if the mod team says they use content from the DE Bonus Pack, and that it IS required for their mod, please STOP arguing with them. Just kick back and enjoy the game.

That's been explained more than once already. It is done for simplicity sake.

As far as we're concerned, any and all bonus packs and patches from Epic and DE are immediately part of the game, and you will need them to play Chaos.

The team is free to use anything from any of those, at any time. And we don't want to have to worry about keeping track of which DE or Epic BP or patch file we used, and where we used it.

Now of course you are free to dig and find out that kind of stuff (what file is needed where) and even free to share your knowledge here. But please keep it to a 'sharing what I learned' kind of thing, you don't need to be so combative about it.

And I'm sorry, but the assumption is that you have enough space to play the game, including all it's official packs and patches. Especially if you're downloading mods like Chaos.

We do think about file size, and try not to have huge files for no reason, but we can't limit the mod too much that way. Good stuff means big files, and that's the way it goes.

Bottom line is that we are always going to require every official bonus pack and patch, and that's the 1st question we're going to ask if you have an issue you need help with. It's one way we attempt to prevent problems, headaches, and wasted time.
