The CPP is going to be redeveloped quite a bit but it is basically in the internal releases. We need to do some stuff with it before we will be comfortable with it.
Right now, it is a bit underpowered for most people, so everyone just uses the shield gun when they start. However, I have a habit of kicking everyone's ass with the CPP in the testing server, but that's not too surprising considering I invented it.
Anyway, these issues are being worked on, so yes indeed there will be a replacement for the AR.
