Drone-Fragger,
maybe that would take some work to the melee system to add. We have just added a whipping boy....errr I mean more help on the team that is in charge of tweaking melee/duel and things like that (and the other team members can work on new weapons/gametypes/ect)... Once he gets up to speed and we fix tweak a few other things..then maybe we can look at it more. So I guess its more of a possibility now but still just a maybe..

No problem on that. But the good news is that we now have a dedicated person to work on this. And I think thats a good thing as he can make some changes

The claws need some sort of handle for your hands, for extra stability. Right now, they look like they can slide around. The blue tinges around the blades make them look funny, too.

I thought about the handel but figured that since it will have to attach to diffrent sized hands and arms that it wouldnt be practicle to have a handel and try to make the bones lignu with that handed so that it always looks like its in the hand on every model. The blue tinges will look a bit diffrent once the shaders get applyed. Ofcourse i can always remove them hehehehe

I would think it would be easier to do with a handle since every player model has an attach point for their hand for holding a normal weapon anyways, and we know how to line up weapons so they use them.
That said, im mainly concerned about the range and speed. Claws should be really fast but the range might just be too small to really be useful compared to some of the longer weapons. If we animated the whole body then you could pivot and drive a hand forward, but we dont =(

Looks nice so far except for the blue parts.
If they're on a separate layer, change them to a darker blue with less cyan, set the layer to additive and blur it a lot. After that use another additive layer on top, paint light blue (nearly white) streaks into it and blur them a little. Highlight the edges of the model instead of darkening them and finally put somestandart max metal texture on top, set it to overlay and set down it's transparecy until fit. That'll give you more of that metallic look.

Heh, you can immediatly see Loq skinned it. You have a very clear style.
I won't comment since Neo already said what I wanted to say + more.

Can you make these claws a little thinner and slightly curved? They look really cool but very unstable. It seems that if Ravage jabbed those claws into something, they will slide back down his arms. I dont know how the claws will look on stubbier characters, but the to make them balanced for all characters, their arm-band-thingies could be made a little longer.
Erm... Drone Fragger... in the Ut 2004 starting movie, dominator doesnt shake romulus around, he holds him up with one hand and stabs him with the other hand's claws.
BTW: All the skaarj chars have arm claws like these, which dont stab. Some of them actually prodrude quite a bit from their hands. What are you going to do about them?

Perhaps the arm strap could be modified into a gauntlet? That would make it look more stable, though it could make it look odd on some models. I'm not a modeller so I dont know exactly.

I'd say keep the models as they are now. It's the only way to have them work with all playermodels.

I'd also like to see them a bit thinner as well. Assuming an advanced alloy, thinner would puncture better. Also, (and I think this just stems from my liking for the Skarj blades) the middle blade seems optional (and its omission would decrease poly count).
Though, moreso that that, I suggest a slight alteration to the tip of the blade, to also make it look like it would puncture better. I did a quick Photoshop edit of the blade to illustrate what I mean, and posted the image
here as I could not attach an image in this forum. IMHumbleO, this makes the blade look deadlier, and more like a sword as opposed to a smaller cutting instrument. I've always liked that upward curve on the tops of some blades.
(note that only the blade showing the most of its side has been altered, though I suggest all tips share the look)
Other than that, I think the blades and wrist gauntlet look great. I only nitpick because I like the idea, so please don't take offense. I'm
not saying I could create better myself or anything.
