Trust me. The Disruptor grenades WILL do it if they're in a vehicle.

yes. but what about in normal CTF? what then? obviosly they don't have a vehicle.( unless they used the CL series but I am not going there.) And so, you need one of those two instant killers. besides, do people usually just stop the vehicle? no. they just blow it up. I just like knocking them around!

it makes destroying the vehicle much easier as they dont move around, like for mantas and raptors

and i doubt a fc would like it if his screen suddenly became white(meaning he couldnt dodge all that good)

I get the feeling that our disruptors have become one of the most under-rated features of the mod.
Kyllian wrote:True, EMP's do nothing to bots, yet
But they will slow vehicles to a crawl for a few seconds.
Are you sure about that? Because that's not what I'm seeing at all (in PR3.6). Every time I use them, the bots will stop firing for a couple/few seconds. The only issue I can recall is that they didn't seem to affect bots who were inside of a turret.

In vehicle matches the disruptors are w/o a doubt one of the most dangerous weapons in the game. They will shut the vehicles down entirely if the hit is good enough, allowing you to take them out. For example my RL and my CGL are but one scroll away, so I can blind/stop an enemy and then quickly scroll to the rockets and finish them off. Sometimes, like with tanks, I may have to scroll back to the nades a few times to re-blind them and then go back to RL or whatever, but it works just fine. If I have disruptors, I can take out scorpions, tanks, and manta's by myself most of the time.

Combined with alt fire and AWO, they can even do stuff like drop Raptors right outta the sky - even from pretty darn far away. I posted some pics of that being done once, not sure if they're still up.

And try using disruptors with some teamwork. Whether the enemy is in a vehicle or not, if you are blinding them while your teammate is attacking them at the same time, it's pretty darn effective.

Then of course there's the flag-carrier - being chased by enemies, and approaching a place in the map where he has choices on which way to run, who turns and runs backwards for a couple seconds so as to fire a couple disruptors and blind his enemy before making a turn .... (or of course if there is a wall up ahead of you you could just use alt fire to fire them straight ahead of you into the wall so they bounce off and go behind you and that way you don't have to even turn around)

Lot's of uses - IMO just maybe not fully realized by everyone yet.

I have a feeling that after weapons like the Flashbangs from CS, the disruptor grenade just appears useless. It is quite good against leviathans though...

I'd like a more detailed flash blindness effect, instead of the white screen. I'd also like a deafening bang that screws up your hearing for a few seconds.

The flash grenades for SW: Republic Commando were really good.

Actually, that may be a good modification ot the disruptors. make them flash a bit longer and have a deafening bang to them. because usually for me to recover aiming is like .5 seconds after a direct disruptor attack. then again I can see good in all conditions.

okay, new idea.

name: the GOLD gun!

bio: Alchemists in the past tried making gold out of objects. Chaos corporation made that possible with their latest creation. The Gold Gun!

Classification: Super Weapon

Looks: Something in gold...

*Primary:

Effect: Turns vehicle or player into solid gold

time required (standing): depends on what is being turned to gold.( see below.)

Range: about one and a half of a bio rifle range shot

ammo cost: Depends on the size of the vehicle and the race of the player.

extras: When vehicle is frozen, players are ejected. vehicle can be used as a karma actor, thereby making it shootable and, possibly, you can kill someone with it. when players are frozen, they are also karma actors, except no body parts moving freely. frozen object will last in level for ten seconds before disappearing when not recieving any fire that will move it

*Secondary:

Effect: fires either a slew of gold coins ( flak ) or shoots out a gold bar ( rocket )

Time required: none

Range: Varies on what you get.

Ammo cost: coins cost 15 ammo, gold bar costs 25

Extras: Gold coins bounce on the ground for a little while. gold bars split into hot shrapnel when it comes into contact with anything.

AWO?: No.

Ammo amount: 300

specials:

Wouldn't it give some races an unfair advantage? I don't think my model should dictate how weapons affect me.
