1) I would suggest you read my Dev Journal post concerning Chaos Invasion.

2) Personally, I would not want the Chaos Team to 'give away' a game type that we might make eventually anyway.

However, I also dont' think we need worry about it from that angle. Why?

Because even though it looks as if we aren't doing a 'Chaos Invasion' for the next release as I proposed, we did already add 2 new options which essentially give you what you want (at least as I understand it).

We now have a configurable wave menu, and we also have now a MaxLives option, as in vanilla Invasion. Soo.., as of PR4 anyway, you will be able to simply select one big monster, and your max lives, and have at it.

So unless I'm missing something here, which is always possible, you can play nearly as you described once we release PR4. Without making a 'new mod'. Just maybe w/o the vanilla monsters like a Titan or Warlord (but we could if we used my suggestion of Chaos Invasion :wink: ).

In addition, I would add this - since what you are describing is so Chaos-ish already anyway, and if you are capable of coding and/or modeling - why not simply apply to the Chaos Team? Then rather than having a 'new mod' so much like ours (and using our melee as well), you can start helping to create this one. Then if you wanted a more Titan-like big monster to add to our wave configure menu, you could make one.

Ok I simply gave up. I'll let you do your job, I'll do mine ;)
never mind, I hope you could accept any help as Jb said, but the only one thing I can do is MAPS. :(
I dont know how to create a model of monster. Have a look at our forum (unreal-design.com), you'll find guys who can realise nice models...
And am new at coding.
I have several maps in project, a few duels, maybe I'll try to make KOTH with some of those projects, I dont know yet.

Soon coming :
-> duel-Savage (an arena set in a dark street in the darkest suburbs)
-> duel-Station (?), inspired of BR-VauxHall
-> duel-RingMadness (may be a KOTH especially for melee, a ring for catchers, parental advisory lol)
-> duel-Suspension (a duel that takes place on a suspension brigde like the big red one in San Francisco I think ?)
...

again if you want have some of those guys come over here and talk to us about those monters as it could use the help.

Lisn, larc, (That is your new callsign) your maps are damn nice and all and I like your ideas on FTM...

If CUT does not wish to work on it, that's their choice. They have their reasons...

Why dont you make it your own mod? But make it such that, it can use CUT features when used with CUT. You seem pretty good at making such things work...

And finally, WHO DELETED THE FAT PICS?!?!?!?! May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your chaddis and may your hands grow too short to scratch! :P

jb, how hard would it be to make the wave configuration ui in chaos accept monster classes, rather than a pre-selected set of monsters? This way, players could add in monsters from just about anywhere via our menu.

In theory you can edit the INI to add in your own. However the code was written in such a way to deal with monsters using the Melee system...not sure how it would re-act to a "normal" monsters. Want to try it and see how it works??? I guess it depends if it works with not so much trouble then it maybe looking into..but if massive things fail...then maybe not??

Sorry, i have been kinda staying out of this one, but after this weekends development im really getting into Invasion type games. LOL

We are doing some revamp work on the HH game type and I'm really getting into it :) Not To take away from the topic, but there are some extra rewards to killing our monsters comming. Last night Jb and i put in a new axe for the Gargoyles. Why would you care? Well, Once ya kill a Gargoyle you can drop your weapon and pick up his axe. Man is that axe pertty harsh. I will tell you i played with it quite a bit last night and was chopping monsters to bits with it. Will these weapons be available in games without the monsters? No. Not at this time. FYI, Identikal has created an awesom new Gargoyle model to carry this axe, and i will tell you, he is pretty mean. It will take a bit to kill him, but if you pick up his axe hopefully it will be worth it. Likewise we are looking at doing weapons for all of the monsters. There are some amazing ideas that are floating around here, that i think may lead to some real excitement for the HH game type witch will eventualy segway into a good working version of DOC. We are also making new monsters to replace the placeholders that we had in there. MarsFyre has allredy provided 2 awesom models to replace the Female Zombie Ninja model, and the normal Long axe swinging zombie. Identikal has a couple more in the works, and i am looking at the Weapons for all of them and mostlikely a couple of monsters too.

I will tell you that as of this week the only thing holding up the release of Chaos PR4 is the monster tweaks that we have to do. We are working on that now. Keep in mind that most of it is model work, and yours truly is going to have alot of free time this weekend ;) I will give thanks by pounding as mutch Chaos into shape as i possably can.

Now that I have a bit of the invasion bug ( No pun intended), I have to agree that it would make alot of sence to add in some of the monsters from Unreal. Ofcourse we would have to be selective. We wouldnt want something that is pelting you with guns before you can get up to it. Maybe we could even subclass some of the UT monsters to take away their overpowering abilitys. But, then again Maybe some of the additive ideas that we have floating around for HH and DOC may even the score quite a bit.

Lots to do, Lots to be excited about, and Hopefully for the fans Lots to be enjoyed. :)

I wish to be on record as stating that we have much more that should be addressed before any kind of public release. flaggrules

Just for one not-so-small example, due to the-invisible-flags issue, CCTF remains unplayable online or off.

I realize that folks don't like to wait, nor do we wish to delay, but I strongly suggest that we release "when it's ready", as opposed to ..., well, anything else.

It seems to me that there is still much work to be done before PR4 is ready, though I would like to see HH improved as much as possible at some point.

Here is the first Upgrade to it :)

Monster:
Gargoyle: Short squat mean chunk of hard rock that is verry hard to kill. They swing large axes with pointy spikes on the back. If you are lucky enough to kill one of these monstrosities You can pick up his axe and use it against his fellow horad members. Please note that the axe is still a work in progress. See below:
