I think I had most stuff on low in that one. Forget exactly.

What is it exactly you're looking at? I'll mess around and get you new pics.

Nope. 1024x, 32bit color, and all settings on vid screen up until announcer says "Holy ****!", and I got no green there.

I think the problem isn't the software but the hardware. I assume you can only see the green on a GeForce3 or better...

In UnrealEd View Menu you have an option "Rendering Emulation" which can show, how it would look with a GeForce2... In GF2 Emulation the green is gone... ;)

So, R.Flagg the only thing you have to do is to buy a new graphics card. ;)

Yes, that much I know. But it is far from the only thing I need.

S'ok though. What else the pic shows you is that I am still able to take your head clean off your shoulders and send it to the Hill w/o you.

That part still works.

Edit: The bad part is that I could use some help then sometimes with promo pics. Fire up them Ninja machines boys, and send/post pics for me to use.

[off top rant]

As most of you know I am pretty into this 3D cards stuff. I browse many message boards related to 3D rendering and video cards. Lately I have been debating with fanboys of one company or another. They don't seem to understand why it takes games so long to use new features. The GF card was released back in the late 1999 and it was the first card to have a Transform and Lighting engine on it. Now days its standard on most al video cards. However UT2k3 is the first game to actually use and push this TnL unit. It took almost 3 years before game developers could get in and really use the TnL unit (Note some games did use the TnL unit but they were cheap last minute hacks). The GF3 card was released about 2 years ago and ushered in programmable TnL units and was the next big thing in 3D. However to this day you can count the number of games that actually use this feature on one hand.

You see the problem is that not every one upgrades to the latest and greatest video cards In fact most don't. Game developers will write their software to run on average video card that is out there. This average is usually 2 years behind what is at top end these days. It takes time for this new tech to filter down to the masses. And these fanboys don't understand that. Game companies will want to sell there game to as many people as they can. They know that only a small percentage of people are willing to upgrade their hardware. The rest will say screw it and not buy their game if it wont run on their hardware. Thus they will cut off a large number of possible sales if they don't write a game that runs on everyone's current hardware. So this is the cause and effect why it takes some time for games to use all of the new features.

When I was at the UTmod summit Epic handed out GF4/8500 cards. They only had 20 or so there were 24 of use. I would have thought that mod development community would be a bit more gun ho about having some of the newer hardware. Most of these people only had GF2 or lower class cards :o

Mark and Harold illustrate my point perfectly. Here are two gamers that have not updated yet so don't assume that every one has.... Dam fanboys.... :)

Um...ok. I think this means I proved you right, so good for me! (right?)

Here's a tune I'm listening to right now;
Bobby wrote:Oh God said to Abraham, "Kill me a son"
Abe says, "Man, you must be puttin' me on"
God say, "No." Abe say, "What?"
God say, "You can do what you want Abe, but
The next time you see me comin' you better run"
Well Abe says, "Where do you want this killin' done?"
God says, "Out on Highway 61."
And it has absolutely nothing to do with what we're talking about either. But I put it there anyway. Anybody got a problem with that? :P
