I dont mean to be insulting, but obviously you have not listend to the music that you are commenting about. I have been listening to rap music since i was about 13 and i dont believe i have ever herd a rap artist talk about commiting suicide. That is usualy Alternitive Rock artists that talk about killing themselfs.

Well,my bro listens to death metal and rap,and he seems to pick ones with a subtext a bit like that(im not sure about deathmetal,usually they just scream there)

nope, not poetic in any sense of the word. Its an easy fallout way for lazy jerks to make money expressing their discusting personalities verbally. Then you see them on cribs flaunting their 8 billion dollar diamond encrusted toilets and enough columnbian MJ to make them forget how much their life is going to suck when their career ends and theyve blown all their money, or maybe theyll just get shot, that seems to happen to them alot...wonder why >_>

I do believe that it fits that sense, but i didnt say it was poetic. I said it was poetry. Someone is buying the records otherwise they wouldnt have the 8 mil, nor would they be on MTV cribs. Not to mention that it is the fastest rising type of " Non Music" in the world.

Please dont think its lost on me that no matter what i say you wont acquiesce and admit that it is music that you just dont like. I just want to see how many ways i can get you to say that.

of course lots of people buy it, this further supports my " gosh im sorrounded by idiots " theory.

I actualy like hearing oposing views. Its the a great way to test your beliefs.

one of the main reasons i hate rap is probably because it has a stereotypical group following it. like goths and punks. Dress the way you like talk the way you wish but dont for a second complain about other people harassing you over what you do, as if you expected the world to instantly respect your decisions. The world is full of judgmental idiots who would sooner puke at the sight of indifference then ignore it.

For instance goths and their death metal, dressing the way a stereotypical goth dresses and expecting it to send some sort of message that " this is who i am " or " ill dress how i want " .

Punks do the same thing, now theres some wierd mix too, it use to be mo-hawks and trashy clothing, but now it seems they have cross bred with goths because now they put on heavy black eye shadow and chokers.

ok so rap, its ok if you like the music, but when you start losing sense of the english vocabulary and dressing like you rely on the salvation army for clothes that dont even fit you ( I.E. pants that are about 4 sizes too large and a chicago bulls tshirt to that hangs to your knees ) your taking it out of line. I dont want to hear the N word 8 times in a 10 word sentence! I dont want you to dress like you live in the north end of hartford or whatever ghetto comes to mind. Heck, i like dungeons and dragons, but i dont go to school dressed as beowolf or whatever, why?, because as cool as it may be to me to run around in metal clad armor....its kinda wierd! And id rather not get strange glances and have people snicker at me wherever i go. but hey, you might like the negative attention

that and the lyrics, i think it was in an episode of south park in which cartman is pretending his hand is jenifer lopez or whatever when he says " wow miss lopez, your style of music is so easy, the lyrics take no train of thought what so ever! " thats about the same as rap. How many different ways can you rhythmicly describe getting ripped off a bong and shooting your neighbors? Obviously alot........alot........

what rap artist are really doing when they write these songs is degrating everything they are. here you go putting forth negative messages via disgusting lyrics about you, your ethnic group, and wherever you come from. Now everyone who doesnt choose to idlize your music thinks all these aspects are negative, good job, you really screwed yourself over there.

and thats why i hate rap, it just helps promote negative stereotypes and the lyrics take little to no effort to think up because its all about the same stuff. But hey, who expects a rap song about anything other then sex drugs and violence. They probably exist, but no where near the numbers of the negative ones, and rap songs about going to disney land dont get you a platinum record and a gold plated toilet =P.

I think the same somewhat,except EA must burn can be replaced with "gosh...idiots outnumber normal people 10:1"
