OK, I finally got to really sit down with this map. In one word it ROCKS. Bots are way more challenging mainly because they navigate the bottom pit area with ease. The sunken spike fields are perfect, and I love the last scream of a guy when he lands and gets gibbed.
Maybe it's my imagination, but the jump pads seem better "aimed" towards the double damage.
The lighting is a little too dark for my tastes, but after slightly altering the gamma/brightness/contrast it looks fine.
The spikes on the pillars are way more usefull. I get a kick out of watching guys torn to shreds when falling a little too close. You gotta watch out for those.
Overall great job. The Pit is permanently on my list of daily maps to play.

Which is good the way it is? The original PIT1 map or the "DARK REMIX" version of it? (I'll probably make both available maybe anyway?)
and should I adjust the main map brightness a couple notches before i make the dark remix final? I dont want to make people alter their default settings to enjoy the map- so give me more feedback on that everyone else please.
And yes- I will be starting new map soon (wrings hands together evily

)

Good thing I didnt submit final yet- I just discovered I didnt have my most recent pit1meshes file uploaded- the most recent one has SimpleKarmaCollision turned off on the big blades so they allow karma dead bodies to flop over and hang off them- I CANT BELIEVE I FORGOT THAT- that was one of the major changes to my DARK REMIX VERSION too- sorry guys. Ill get the crap up tonight. Also I may have a new map up this weekend... Later

OK- heres the updated pit1meshes file...
http://www.peterissa.com/files/Pit1meshes.zip
...with this the dead bodies should interact with the large blades in the Dark_Remix map.
SO EVERYONE PLEASE GET THIS NEW FILE!!
That's the last time I store map meshes in an outside file...
Since I made The Elder God map after this one I did it right into the Mylevel set on that map...
ps- I have learned a few tricks working on my new map, so I will update my old maps later on this year for UT2004 for a "MK Map Pack"

That would be very cool BF, I look forward to it.
Only thing that concerns me, is having a file that will cause players problems when they try to play online.
I'm sure you can understand, that getting players online is something we work hard to achieve. (speaking for myself, playing Chaos with a server full of humans is one of the main reasons, if not the main reason, I help the mod)

Huh? None of my maps require a file that causes problems playing online. Only file I have made that will is the optional DuelAnnouncer pack for those who want to try it out. If you want me to remove that I can. I dont have a problem pulling that optional file if you think careless users will overwrite their original file against my instructions, causing problems. I just wanted to share something I made for fun with others that might want more of a Mortal Kombat feel for Duel. (and personally I HATE the Chaos duel announcer- sorry

).
Now if you think me updating my package files will mess up people trying to play my maps online currently, I express that This map has not been finalized. So if people are beta testing it they need to realize what that can entail. Please let me know if anyone has any concerns or suggestions and please be specific so I can resolve them. Thanks!

I most agree w/ Bigfoot on that one... the announcer's voice just sounds so fake compared to how professional the rest of the work you guys do... thats just my opinion though

just letting you know you stole mortlecombat name
mike form
www.rosebum.com is who started the mk series....
CTF-MortalKombat
A map inspired by the Mortal Kombat movie soundtrack also included. A small but fun Instagib map.
Built in the Summer of 2002
Took approximately twenty minutes to build
Admin Score:3 stars

Surprisingly the first map became popular by a large number of players so here is a second Mortal Kombat map with same soundtrack but more challenging. Also contains just the Enhanced Shock Rifle.

Huh? You cannot be serious.
The guy did not "steal" the name - he has made a map inspired by MK, and it's for Chaos Duel, and he posted it here on our forums.
Glad you stopped by our forums, and you're welcome to stay, but drop the crap and keep it real!
Thanks - and have a nice day!

And.. Ed Boon and John Tobais (spelling might be off) and the company Midway are the ones who own the mortal kombat name. If you use it, technically you are stealing from them

Boon and Tobias... I can always remember that from the character Noob Saibot
