Well they are...techincally...just that they are moving so fast (15,000 and 20,000 game units) that they fly right by the vortex before the gravity can work on them. The gravity is appiled to them every moment they are in the area of effect of the vortex. Problem is for the ERDW/Sniper those projectiles are in and out before of the area of effect faster than the gravity can work on them..

BobTheDog,
yea thats a good point about the Rate Of Fire on the xbow for alt. We will adjust.

Also what skill level did you play with the bots when you tried to flash them?

I will have to look into 1/2 as that I did not do orignally so need to check. And number 4, IIRC the minigun is an instant hit weapon. The projectiles you see are just for effect...again will have to double check that one as well...

jb wrote:Try this. Get a bow, load it with exp bolts. Find a long hallway. Stand at one end fire in normal mode at other end. Count how long it takes before the arrow expoded when it hits the end wall. Then switch to charging, charge it up to full, and do the same. You shoud see that in charging mode it does not take as long before you see/hear it expode, thus its travling faster...

we can try to make it more apparent...
FYI, that is how i tested it.
Maybe it just doesn't always work the way it's supposed to.

I dunno, just letting you know what I found. :)

Actually I think the problem is map based.

I was testing Epic's new Morpheus3 map, and it had that problem in a couple spots. The direction of Minigun fire would "stick" to a certain area, no matter what direction you face (well, unless you were facing the exact opposite direction, it would finally unstick).
It's funny to see the tracers shooting 90 degrees to the right

They acknowledged it was a problem with the map and would get it fixed.
Unfortunately i was not given any specific information on how it would be fixed, so I have no advice to map makers on how to avoid it :(
(I have seen it happen on other user made maps too)

So maybe it is not under your control.
(It might be a totally different bug though, so check it out anyway).

mmm... I figured the ERDW works off of a... oh what's the sniper gun in Q3A.. well that sort of principal... therefor the projectile travvels at an incredible speed so it would be distorted very little by the vortex... but then I'm just rambling on here :)

I think that the sniper rifle might change its course slightly when a vortex is present... but nothing like a ring of orbiting napalm grenades.

Yeah.. nothing like that Isotope or poison :D

Sry I didn't respon so quickly.
It still comes up with that error even though the right mutator list is empty. As for before CUT2 was installed, I don't know.
Morpheus 3! I want!

lol,
Wassup Shuri! :)

The map has probably changed a lot since I tested it, so it'll be new"ish" to me too, when we get to play the final.

I hope it's in UT2k4...
/crosses fingers

(Could be in a future BP too. Who knows)

Ok you guys were right and I was wrong the alt fire arrows were the same. Some idiot that did that code cleared out the amount of charged so it never told the arrow to fly faster...doh wait a tick I was that idiot  My bad. But I have corrected for it and verified now that Alt arrows do indeed get their proper charging value. Now the alt arrows will reach a top speed of 5000 game units (a bit faster than rockets). I have verified it in the code. Sorry about that guys it was my bad.

However the bots is still up in the air. We have one of our beta testers that saw it. And another that did not so let us work a bit more on that. Thanks for the heads up..

Anything else we missed?

I got the same crash that BobTheDog got with face3, except that I was playing DM-Depot, and got it again with DM-Chess. I thought it was because I was using the mut UT2003RPG, but since bob was not using that mut when he crashed it must be okay. I use Win98 not XP, but still got the crash, I also have the latest patch 2225 and the latest nVidia drivers(45.23), so it must be a glitch in the ChaosUT2K3 mut. Hopefully the next release will fix this as the mut is my favorite out of the dozens of others I have.

Redjack,

we are wroking to try to dupilicate that one. So far its hard one to get to happen every time. Once we can get it to happen then fixing it is a pice of cake, usally :)
