I've seen the server and IT COMPLETELY COMPLEMENTS U!

I have to say that the server in question: WGS has done and Extraordinary job in utilizing the weapons from Chaos. Unfortunately it is quite difficult to download the entire CHAOS mod for most people. I completely respect the Authority, Right and, Intellectual property of CHAOS to develop and control everything. However, sometimes IMITATION is the greatest form of praise. In this case, WGS has done and EXEMPLARY JOB. Truly, honestly before casting stones at this particular server, I suggest you actually play it and see how much press it actually generates for CHAOS. As CVROY has previously stated: he had not taken the liberty of calling anything his own. He merely altered things slightly to make it more fun and playable. He is also right in saying that you guys should actually be working with or for the people that created Unreal because you are so un-friggin-believably talented. Without your work, noone would enjoy the insane weapons and unbridled fun from CHAOS. I thank you for your efforts, and implore you to allow this individual to continue to utilize the weapons in and indivualized fashion. If the name WGS is objectionable, that is understood, but not to allow him to use singular weapons is a bit heavy handed. Once again, please do not read this post as anything but a complement and a plea to allow CVROY to continue to run his server with your AWESOME weapons. What he said about his server not being around without you guys is probably true. He has endeavored to create a very fun and ACCESSIBLE environment that is easy for everyone to play (even those that cannot download 200 megs). Please, please, please, please, please see the reason and logic in this. You guys ROCK! Keep pumping out INCREDIBLE mods, and whatever your decision, know this: CVROY is a trustworthy and honest person: he will endeavor to do whatever is right and will respect your wishes. Please grant him the opportunity to be a bit more selective however with regards to what he uses on the server. It's not a huge request, but nonetheless the ball is in your court.
P.S.- I won't be checking any replies as I usually don't post in forums. But I became aware of this issue and had to put my 2 cents in. Thanks for listening.

Well, that's too bad. I would have been happy to discuss it with you. Thanks for the kind words anyway.
But to others in the thread..., one of the things I think we are all gonna have to look at, is sort of a 'bigger picture'. Beyond just this mod, and just your server. It is my belief that if folks are only going to accept small downloads, and 'toolkit' mods, you may in fact end up with less top quality modders willing to go thru the effort. At least not willing to go thru the effort to make the types of things you see in Chaos.
The Cutter for example, was not the work of one person. Not even just two people. It started as the work of one man, and he did a great job getting started, but needed help. We recruited him, and the Team got involved. But if it had remained that way, one man's work, it wouldn't be the quality that you enjoy.
It only became what you enjoy today, because a team of folks worked on it. Yet if things worked only as you are requesting, then that team would not have been there to do that. And you would not have a Cutter to come talk to us about. See the irony?
Because as I have already stated, if it were a 'toolkit' type of situation, we wouldn't be here having this conversation today. I have been around Chaos a long time, and I know that to be true. We never would have gotten this far, doing that type of modding.
And I have to say, I am on 56k, and I do not have an issue with downloading large mods. It's actually not a big deal. Use a download manager and let it run when you can. The vast majority of folks are either on highspeed, or can use a download manager as I do. And there are plenty of folks around the net willing to mail CDs as well.
You just can't have small file sizes, and top quality mods at the same time. The two are mutually exclusive.

Ok, you got me! I checked out the forum because I got an email sent to me indicating someone had responded. LOL. I hope you interpreted that posting as a complement to the superb work and obvious effort expended to create the CHAOS packet. There really aren't words to describe how incredible it actually is. I sincerely hope that you can come to some kind of amicable resolution with CVROY. Like I said, he's a pretty upstanding character and if there was any misunderstanding, or infringement, it certainly was not intentional. I've never even met the guy, but through my limited interaction with him, he exudes generosity, professionalism, humor and intelligence. Plus, he's not a shabby player. I know the people from my clan (BIC) love what he's done in the past with the server and I can only hope that we can still benefit from your awesome modifications in whatever finalized form you guys decide on. Keep up the good work...and for ***** SAKE....either start marketing your packet officially and make some scratch, or work for/with the people that make Unreal. You guys are undoubtedly talented and are deserving of greater exposure for your efforts. Kudos!

ahh well,i dont think it would be such a crime to rip em out if you add a link to the site on the skin of the weapons, but im not even on the team, and it would propably spread among servers(which would be bad)

I see your point
I did make stand-alone versions of the CUTTER, Vortex, Proxy and Firemine, and also the Sniper for my Ut2003 Server. My server was up for a mucho-long time and nobody ever took the weps off the server and used them on another.
The people that play my server are 95% regulars and they all knew where I originally got those weps. They played, had fun and that was it:)
If you DL this video I made for the regs on my old Ut2003 server you will see them in action.
http://unrealtournament2004.filefront.com/file/;24412
It's a hefty DL but it has some real good action and it get's better as the video goes on... plus the soundtrack is pretty cool too
I am looking forward to getting the CUTTER and Vortex back on the server, even with the Chaos appoved Skins... cuz it's all about the killing!

Lots of them.
I personally use Trillian (
http://www.ceruleanstudios.com), and they have a free version that can run AIM, MSN, ICQ, and Yahoo! messengers as well as IRC.
mIRC is another option. (

Oh yeah.. if in UT2004 (with the chaos mod activated) you go to Join Game and then select the chat tab, its set up for the chatroom already. Just hit join server and join channel (i think those are the buttons... anyways theres two, hit both).
