well the xbow bug as such requires 3 people: one shooter, one headshotee, and one person to receive the insanely fast crossbow bolt with a head on it. However we did not change the link gun at all, so it would not have been that. Could it have been just a regular lock up?
I make Darth Vader look like a teenage punk with a lightsaber.
The arrow looses speed as it flies, you said. Maybe the head was so close to a wall that it hit it with enough speed to crash the system.

right playin koth-pyramid cos i aint bothered downloadin the map pack yet cos its very early in the mornin and i started playin and i think i was on top of the pyramid and then the game froze and there was repeating noise and ctrl alt delete didnt work. Had to restart. Thinks feck it maybe it was a one off. starts again plays one round of koth then on the second round i had found the fire mines and was playin bout with them. i had launched a few and as i pressed secondry to fire another the same crash/lockup thing happened. rebooted started again out of curiousity. again a second match and i was firing the sniper rifle off the top of the pyramid and it locked up again. at that point i gave up n came here to complain. heres the log if u want it or need it *goes n looks for log*

Another strange thing. I was able to play with CUT2 mutator in K___ Forest (whtvr the one with the low gravity and has bridges all over the place witht he bowl like jump pads). But then I ran into a antigrav belt and then it did it's quit thing. Log:

i also get the bug when one picks up a gun, tries to fire, and it exits out of UT2003 and i get the error message shown below. i have only tried this with the cross bow the smiley launcher, and another gun that i don't know what is yet. i am almost positive that i have the latest drivers, and i have directx 9.0. the normal game DOES work on my computer, and i have NO other mutators active. it always crashes, and right now i only have one bot and the lowest graphics settings. someone PLEASE help me, i loved the chaos mod for ut.. and i want to play this one!

thanks for the pic. I sent this as well as another one to spa so he can see about a fix. Again its probably an issue with the textures that make up the sniper dot as it only appears on certian hard ware

thanks for the input. This is the one that escapes us atm. So far we have not figured out why this is happening or the common trend here. Only a small number of people are reporting it. I agree its a huge problem but hang with us for a bit longer why we try to repeate it on one of our systems. Once we can see it and get it be repeatable. Fixing is usally "easy" at that point.

Have you tried playing with out the bots or on line? Just want to see if that makes any difference... Sorry ATM we are dont have an answer but we are not giving up!

since i usually never change my mutator list this is what i had also

grr feckin bug
i think its the crossbow bug because when i was playing it this mornin u could hear the crossbow winch winding up then just after it u heard the firing noise it crashed again.
