They don't ALL hold them the same way. The Gen Mo'kai hold a lot of the weapons in that forward pointing "I'mma stab you good" way like they do with the Bastard sword. Like they're gonna lance someone.Kaboodles_The_Assassin wrote:Can you make the characters hold each weapon weapon a different way? It just doesn't seem right to have them hold each weapon the exact same way.
Also, fighting with your back completely straight and your legs together doesn't look natural either. Is there anyway to change that, or is that just too much animation work?
New Melee Weaps

Here I am again.
Anyway, for a weapon idea of polearm fashion for use in gunfights as a shield gun replacement ala TKATK's suggestion, I got a sudden random idea that prolly sucks but I'll go ahead and post anyway.
It's a sort of pneumatic umbrella spear thing. Like a spear with a large head. Primary fire would be a stabbing motion of whatever sort, but also enable (if at all remotely possible) a sort of skewering action. I know the grapple can cling to walls and whatnot, but I have no idea about whether or not weapons would allow similar effects. But anyway, stab a wall, you stick. Falling, stab a wall, you stop. Let go, fall more, stop again, repeat ad nauseum or till you reach the ground. The idea here I'm REALLY not sure of would be the ability to skewer players and hold them pretty much in place. Which can be a bad thing given it means they have whatever weapon they had and are now pinned next to you, and here your spear is inside of them, but that's kinda where the alt fire comes in.
The alt fire would be the umbrella type thingie. Like primary fire it would remain extended as long as you hold the fire button, but in this case, the spear head would expand and metal fins would fill in the space to form an umbrella shield in front of you, limiting visibility, but putting up a defense. Pressing alt fire while someone is skewered would do lots and lots of damage, and quite possibly gib the poor bastard. Maybe have the damage dependant on how close the target is to the skewerer. Either way, they aren't skewered anymore.
Dispite being a melee weapon however, it would have ammo like the shield gun. However, it would not be depleted by attacking or opening the fins. It would be depleted by skewering walls, and blocking attacks with the fins. At spawn there would be a set amount of ammo, probably 100, that would reflect the durability of the spear. As it's shot or you stab into peices of rock and metal, it gets beaten up till it eventually breaks and you have no spear anymore, unless of course you pick one up off a dead guy who was using the spear and dropped it and it would have the durability he had and yadda yadda yadda.
If you wanted to make the weapon exceptionally complicated, like all people who suggest weapons without knowing a damned thing about what they're talking about do, you could say the various fins on the shield are destroyed as the weapon takes damage, reducing the chance to block attacks and doing less damage in the stab-umbrella fashion. Snapping away much like the scorpions fancy harvesting blades do when you hit something you shouldn't have. For the record, holding primary fire so the spear is extended would not allow you to just run around till you touch something and skewer it. I think having to time the pressing of fire would make things a bit more sporting and less "impact hammer and shield gun touch something and it dies"ish.
I think that's it.... Yeah. I'm done talking too much.

modern weapons
I think that some more modern, slicy-slicy weapons should be added. First thing, chainsaw. Hands-down, we need a chainsaw!! Also, for people more like me, a Circular saw or some sort of blow-torch
yes.......just think about how many weapons you have seen in your parent's gardening shed....hoes, hose (not a typo), shovels, and those nasty, hand-operated rotor-tillers. Finally, for a melee-redeemer sort of weapon, one of those EDITED rotary push mowers.

I know there is a flamethrower, but I mean more like a soldering torch. It's kind of like a jet-lighter (ya know, those ones with a straight blue flame).
And yes, I am talking about those saws they use to cut up asphalt, only hand operated. And it doesnt ripoff the Hellsaw because it's round, and the hellsaw is pink.
Another weapon that would be cool would be a Manrikigusari.

Manrikigusari
It's used to grapple and choke people, or to trap (and break) limbs.
Hey, CUT2 team, you should release a seperate download mutator with ONLY duel mode and the melee weaps. My 56k disagrees with the 2XX MB download.

Currently the technology allows only for stiff weapons as karma is client-side only. Sorry.d3u5_3x_m4ch1n4 wrote:Another weapon that would be cool would be a Manrikigusari.
