The Year of the Remake? (and is this a bad thing?)

I always used to say remakes are seldom worthwhile. Very few maps did I ever actually want to see brought 'thru the ages'. ( JailHouse anyone?
A map for all ages. )
But anyway, I gotta say, I'm actually enjoying many of the remakes coming into UT2. Some of them are pretty cool, and turning out to be fun to play.
DM-Curse]I[-LE is another great example. (dumb name, great map)

Well Ok, not much of the map in that pic I guess. (not much of The Thing either.
)
Found it on a visit to the ProUnreal forums.

I like this remake much much better than I do the one on the CD.
Anybody else digging these remakes?
