Grabs the fire poker and stokes the rumor fire some...

"If there were going to be a UT2004 it would be fully backward compatible
with 2003 so mod makers wouldn't have to worry about that. But that's all I
can say for now :)

"We'll be announcing what's happening next with Unreal Tournament at E3.
Don't worry, any new UT related
products shipping in the next 18 months will be compatible with UT2003, and
so will serve to extend the
life of the platform your mod is built on rather than replacing it.

In related news, Ryan C. Gordon has announced that the MacOS port of
UT2004 will be ready well before the 2006 holiday season.

Doesn't say anything about the bump-mapping and vertex-based animation I was hoping for... :(

I think what we will see is 2 products or so off the same engine then they should up the engine. It takes longer for them to get these effects into the engine so for 1/2 years he ride with tweaks, gameplay changes...then nock our socks off with a new engine. I know Tim and the boys have already add some of that type effects in their next engine.

I read on BU:
New weapons confirmed for UT2004 are: grenade launcher, mines, and spider mines. Epic have some other weapons planned, but aren't ready to discuss them yet.
So they have at least two weapons similiar to ours, a grenade lauchner and the Spiders...

Well with Epic copying us i guess we're doing pretty fine!
Ha spider mines i think we should plan something special for the proxies to do when they encounter one.
