Minor grievances

Awesome mod! The proxy mines are, as always, so much fun to play with. And I was pleasantly surprised to see that so far the CUTTER hasn't turned the game into a spamfest ;)

Anyway, minor issues:
-The crossbow bolts are nearly invisible...at anything other than short range you can't even tell where it landed, let alone if you got a hit.
-An option to swap out the laser dot with a normal crosshair (or both at once) would be nice.... I can't aim without a crosshair ;)
-The pickup switching should stay consistent with the weapon currently there. Often they get out of sync and I end up picking up shock cores when the weapon there is a crossbow, for example.

Myst, afaik the out-of-sync is caused by the time the weapons were lat picked up, if you get what I mean. Someone picks up crossbow ammo, leaves the crossbow there. So when the Crossbow switches to shock, the newer spawned ammo hasn't gone through the time cycle yet and changes at a different time.

I've noticed an issue with CUT2 and superbots; bots sometimes freeze in place when superbots and CUT are enabled.

I know what causes it.....but it's still a bug. ;)

I haven't noticed any problems with SuperBots yet but I haven't tested it all that much.

Glad your are enjoying the mod!

All crossbow bolts have trialers except for the fire ones. Have you seen them yet? Maybe they are not big enough or long enough. And we will try to get a screen shot up to show you. BTW they are color coded.

We felt that for balancing reasons it would be better to use a visible laser dot to show you were the gun is pointing. This was done as the bullet and its trailer move too fast to see in a game normally. This laser dot is visible by all so its kind of a scary feeling to see the dot move toward you :)

A couple of our mapers wanted the effects to be random so after some discussion we figured to try it with a random spawning to help keep the game fresh...its like getting a present you never know whats gonna show up :) However if enough want to maybe we can add in something to sync them better....

Very cool of you to offer the positive comments Mysterial.

Thank you!

Did some quick checking - the trails do not show up online, which happened to be the game I played before writing that post. ;)

If the laser dot is primarily for the players I'm shooting at, then it shouldn't matter if I have a crosshair in addition to the dot.

IMO it's just not fun to have an inventory full of Chaos weapons with only ammo for the normal weapons. And it happens a LOT.

They should. However what we have seen is that it takes time for the arrow to replicate and when the trailers do appear its in mid flight. Could that be what your not seeing them???

I understand that 100% but some others on the dev team wanted it off. Maybe we can give you an client side option to have the xhairs on for the owner?? Seems like a good comprimise.

yeap. Try playing with the CUT Mut Set to Always replace. Then it should replace all epics ammo with ours (if its availble).

Thanks again and keep the feedback coming!

I've yet to see a trailer on an arrow online, no matter how far I've fired it.

That's what I've been asking for the whole time ;)

If I wanted to completely replace the normal weapons, I would have done that in the first place ;)

well i have one thing to say ( for now ) the weapons with the laser sight arn't ment to be carried and fired like normal weapons you don't shoot a rocket at a wall like you would the rail gun and you don't shoot the sniper rifle like you would the assault rifle you snipe with the rifle and you shoot from a safe distance the rocket launcher

Btw, if you use the scope you have one HUGE crosshair =)

And the secondary scope is better for closer quarters with a limited zoom and the lifesign indicator

Yeah, I just use the scopes when I've got the sniper rifle. It's much easier that way, and you can line up headshots better, even in close combat. Though you should probably switch to another weapon for close combat... But whatever suits your style...

We should still get the option of getting a crosshair!

cvydas wrote:my gripe is more with the gametype or is it?. in capture the flag the point is the team with the most captures wins, does that mean you and the bots only kill the guy with the flag ? no. of corse not. it seems lame to me that the bots literally ignore you unless you are on the hill. i would like to see the bot behavior improved. like i said in KOTH pyramid they really go after you whether you are on the hill or not. In KOTH-SwampTemple, KOTH-MistyValley and KOTH-Dungeon they do not. what up? will you guys revise these maps or the game type which ever it is...so that chaosut2 is more bot friendly?
cvydas wrote:because of these concerns i am skiddish about downloading anymore KOTH maps.
i am just not satisfied with the answers i got on the Maps and Things - UT & UT2k3 page. Care to chime in jb, R.Flagg {MoO}?

Killer mod by the way

Mysterial, I can see the arrow trails online just fine. Was just online and saw all of them. So they do work....., at least for some folks.

Guess we have to find out why it doesn't work for others, but it's not as simple as "they don't work online".
