Ok i did post a long time ago, about a directX problem concering ut2k3, well now ive narrowed it down its my direct 3D device thats faulty, not even upgrading to 6.0a directx seems to help, should i try to uninstall directx and reinstall from a non-corrupted source (like the ut2k3 cds or my war3 cd)? or should i do something else. now that the problem has been isolated to just one thing, getting back into ut2k3 sould be soon, cant wait to play ur chaos2k3 mod, i know its going to be awesome. thanks for any help you guys can give me.

The latest version of Direct X is 9.0. You can download it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx
try that and see if it helps

Get a new video card. Or try running UT2003 in OpenGL mode.

Oh... hehe i meant directX 9.0a, you cant run warcraft3 w/o it, but my mechcommander2 game works perfectly (or it doesnt use direct 3D), I recently reformated my hardrives and i got a fatal error in dos about the harddrives (when they were completely blank) so could it be that the files for Direct 3D are corrupted; for DJpaul2 i already am running in openGL, the game crashes just after it tries to create the direct 3D device, it gets through the engine and all but hits a huge wall at the direct 3d device, is there anything i can do like just fix the direct 3d files or someting? all i know is everything worked fine until Nvidia released their universal drivers for all of their tnt chipset cards, and thats when about 1/2 of my games stopped working, but its the only drivers i can find for my card.

What card exactly are you running? If it's really a TNT, you will have to upgarde I think.
